I keep all single cigars on the top tray of the humidor and the bottom portion I keep a box of Padrons 2000 (still in the box. ) I have room for one more so I bought a box of Tatiana Vanilla cigars.
My question is.. will it be ok to put the whole box on the bottom part of the humi too? I mean being that theyre flavored cigars, I dont want to contaminate the rest of my cigars with the vanilla flavor.
Each flavored cigar is wrapped in plastic, plus in the box...I think it will be ok, no??
Well I couldnt find tupperware big enough to fit the box of the vanillas!
I really wanted to keep them in the box but would it matter if I take them out or its better to leave them in the box? I guess I will have to go get a bigger tupperdor!
You can get an oversize ziplok bag at the grocery store, then put in a Boveda humidification pack (I'd use the 65% in a bag or tupperdor)-- voila, temporary solution.
Here's a more permanent solution. You get a blender, then you open the box of vanillas and put them in the blender. Then you process the whole thing on frappe for 5 minutes. You can either put the results in some little cloth bags (sort of vanilla sachets), or scatter them to the wind. As they scatter, you say "Never again, never again!"
As many of us have done, either plan your next humidor to store at least a dozen boxes, or get a large cooler and some humidification beads to accomdate the over flow storage. That has been working for me.
The problem is still that the flavored cigars are the odd man out. You don't want them polluting the non-flavored stuff (which will happen if you keep them together). For that instance, a DOUBLE-BAG ziplok and a Boveda pack are indeed the best solution.
