I'm here on account of insominia so im mostly asleeep. I see you're both logged in. SHF, I'm surprised you have time between your busy schedule and your vacation plans. Where in California are you going anyway? Have a fun, safe trip. PMP, I hope Cohiba is getting better and wedding plans are going well. Let us know on both.

Whats happening saul? Cohiba is still sick. To be completely honest he is on the verge of getting put down. I know it seems insane to come all this way and to then euthanise him but his case is becoming more and more complex and odd by the day. At this point we aren't even sure it was only parvo.
Anyway, I will post more on that later as it is known. I pretty much have insomnia every night. What did you smoke today? I had a griffins fuerte robusto and some cheap J&B scotch on account of greek easter. You do anything cool tonight.
Seahawk will probably chime in later after the donkey punches cease.

PMP, I'm really sorry to hear about Cohiba. My prayers are with you both. Even from what you've said here it's obvious how dedicated you are to dogs, and now this one in particular.
Didn't smoke anything today but had an Indian Tabac Classic yesterday while I did the yard work. Friday I had a Montesino PC in two shifts, the first part on the way to work and the second part in the afternoon. I'm still trying to figure out how to describe its texture and haven't been helped by any of the reviews I've read. The words coarse, grainy, sandy sort of describe it but not very well and they all sound negative. I enjoyed it a lot although it's a lot different from what I usually smoke. This was the second one I've had. I had the first while walking the dog a few weeks ago. When I got home, my wife asked me if it was a different kind of cigar than usual because I smelled especially gross. But the Sancho Panza I had a few days ago was one of the best smoking experiences I've ever had -- it gave off great clouds of fairly mild smoke, and between puffs of the cigar I was breathing in the smoke. Weird? Never done that before.
Passover ended today so I had a roast beef sandwich for dinner and had a bowl of cereal before I went to bed (the first time). No, I wasn't perfect during Passover (had a couple of cookies at work, and some leftover tortellini one night when Beth didn't make dinner) but was pretty close.
Goodnight, I'll see if SHF answered and then go crash.

Just picked out my cigars for the trip. Do me a favor and post what I'm smoking in the next few days' "Tonight's smokes" threads for me
Monday: RP Vintage 90 Torpedo Tuesday: Cuban Punch SS2 at a wine tasting event Wednesday: RP Vintage 92 torpedo.
I'll also fit in a Torano 1916 but not sure when.
See you guys in a few days

Saul, was that the natural montesino, the sungrown, or the maddy? I like them OK for a cheap smoke. I think they are probably more worth it dollar for dollar than the regular fuente line.(montesino is rolled by fuente for those who don't know) I don't know if the texture you are trying to describe is what some would call chewy. I have always found those to be pretty smooth. I honestly cant comment though. It has been over a year since I had one I think.

It was the natural. "Chewy" sounds like it sorta fits, although it usually refers to something solid rather than smoke..

Smoke is often referred to as chewy. It is just a description of the texture. I find LGC serie R to be exceptionally chewy. I don't know about most people but I find its a good thing.

Hey Saul the RP Vintages are very good, but not as spectacular as I had hoped. I think they are a little over hyped.
They are very good quality and construction, and the burn was excellent. I preferred the 92 over the 90. I think the 90 uses a sun grown wrapper that just didn't have as much flavor as I hoped it would.
I still need to try a few more before i make up my mind though. This calls for extensive testing!
