Doc, I'm asking you this since you smoke these a lot. Fuente sungrown. I have a few boxes, and I think it's one of the best cigars I've ever smoked. I can't get over the wrapper. It got a sweet taste to it. anyway, I bought a box just to store for a few years. Do you think I should take the cedar wrapper off before I put them away? The reason I ask , I don't want the cedar to overpower the wrapper. I like the way it taste now. Is this stupid? or will the cedar not make a difference ?

I would remove it if you are storing long term (Over a year or two) as the cedar will overpower the cigar.

Actually Gordon Mott had a cigar that he reviewed a few months ago in CA (The Andy Garcia Edition) where his cigar had been in the humidor since the 1970's in its cedar sleeve. He reported cedar notes but the flavor of the cedar was not overpowering.

Personally I would leave it on.

How about you take half of them off and compare the flavor as they age.

If that is the case, why store cigars in a humidor lined with Spanish cedar???
