Can we not set up a toll for trolls? Say and IP address is flagged as being used by troll, CA is able to set a toll for each troll post on the CA forum. That way the trolls ISP is flagged and can charge additional $$ for usage of the IP address, and compensate CA. The goal for toll for trolls is to lower the stol(en) time of the CA reader.

A toll/tax may decrease the number of undesirables...but isn't that approach currently being used against tobacco users.

I don't get this, "stolen time from the reader". If you don't want to read the post, don't read it. Nobody is stealing anybodies time.

Also, there seems to be a real misunderstanding of what trolling is on the CA Forums. There is actually very little trolling that occurs on these forums. Trolling is not "other people talking about stuff I don't want to talk about/disagree with". Trolling is writing something intentionally inflammatory, whether you agree with it or not, with the aim being to piss off as many people as possible, and get as many angry replies as possible, so you can sit and giggle at everyone getting worked up. To my knowledge, nobody really does that here. (maybe 'bigler and KKL on occasion, trying to get me worked up after they've lost another argument).

Even Vision's posts aren't trolling. He's sharing something about which he has genuine opinions and feelings. Just because I personally think it's a waste of space, that doesn't make him a troll (and the same visa-versa).

He may be a whack job but it's natural whack, not juiced!

Interesting you bring this up. I was called a troll for not agreeing with some here.

I see plenty of instances where users intentionally try to get certain segments all bent out of shape with insults and baiting comments. Just because they aren't trying to incite "everyone" doesn't mean they aren't trolling. No one here is trying to stiffle healthy debate. But grade school insults aren't healthy debate. There is plenty of trolling here IMO. And actually I think it's a hell of an idea.

So it's like a carbon tax for trolls, right?

If CA hasn't changed the Golf forum that nobody uses do you expect someone will be hired to hand out fines for trolling?
