Hello, I'm new to this forum and to the world of cigars in general and I need help regarding a cigar I've recently purchased. I bought what appears to be a Punch cuban cigar, but after researching a bit i found that Punch cigars are made in Honduras. Furthermore, the Punch "label" or "tag" is usualy red and gold, while my cigar label is black and white. The cigar identifies itself as a "Havana Coronation" but i have failed to find anything similar on the web. Have I been conned?

Gollum? Where did you purchase the cigar?

B&W like a xerox copy?

In the center of the band, under Punch and over Manuel Lopez, does it say Habana, or nothing at all? And in the small circle in the middle, does it say RE or JG?

BTW, Punch cigars are made in Cuba AND in Honduras. They are 2 different entities for legal and historical reasons which I will not list here.

Harv: the cigars in the link have a red and gold label while mine is dark brown (not black as i've said previously) and white.

csmithnj: I bought it at a smoking paraphranelia store in Israel

flashman: It says Habana, and in the circle it says RE. Do you know what that means?

What you have, in principle (barring a very bad fake), is a machine-made Punch Coronation from Cuba.
What you have is the "ordinary" brown and white band that comes with some tubed versions of Punch.
However, as far as I can tell (the band I have is a bit old), it shouldn't say "Manuel Lopez" below the Habana and there should be a zig-zag design on the flaps framing the words "Cuba" (on the left flap) and again "Habana" (on the right flap).

If so, it should be an authentic --albeit machine-made-- Cuban.

Well done flashman. I just got one of these yesterday from my step-dad and I was wondering if it was a legit cuban or not because of the weird band. Thanks for the info, hopefully its good for a machine-made Punch...
