I'm seriously looking into. I have ever been to a Vegas Big Smoke and it always falls on/around my birthday, November 6th. (hint, hint)
If I go I want to do the whole weekend, so you are basically looking at $1200 when you factor in flight, Big Smoke and cheap room. Bring the woman and/or gamble and you are talking about a hefty weekend.
Since I might not have a job by then, I'll have to see how things are playing out.
The weekend was SO worth the $500. The Big Smoke event had nothing on the rest of the weekend. I found the seminars very interesting (last year was "From Seed to Shelf"), the cigar rolling was a blast, the breakfast with Charlie Palmer was OUTSTANDING, and the bourbon tasting/pairing (at 11am) was just plain fun.
I could never gamble for only $500 for the amount of time I spent in those seminars. And I booked my room at the Paris back in March as soon as they announced the BS location and got a room rate of under $100.
I'm really looking forward to this year's seminars, including the one on collecting Cuban cigars. I think this should prove an interesting topic given the legalities. And the tasting/pairing is going to be top-notch rums, so I can't wait. The BS events are fun, but its the rest of the weekend that I really enjoyed, and I can't wait!!!
Thanks, that's about the nicest thing I've heard in a while!
He tolerates me. And humors me. Truth be told, I'm way more into this than he is. He just smokes 'em....I got into the whole atmosphere of the hobby and just want to learn everything I can as I find it all very fascinating.
Smokin', I stayed at the Paris last fall. It's the only time I've been to Vegas and I didn't get to see too much (Hoover Dam, whoopee) but I came home with more money and fewer cigars than I left with. Make sure you get a room with a window that opens!
Peace.

This is cool. I have been "working" in a Tobacco/Cigar/Pipe store for about 7 years now. I am not going to the seminars, as I get to talk to alot of the cigar owners while working at the store. I guess I may need to rethink that for next year and do the whole weekend.
Anyone interested in setting up a time to meet hang out and smoke ALOT.

I have to agree with SmokinHot, I did the package last year also, Seminars, lunch and Breakfast, I learn a lot, and had one hell of a good time. Last year I went cheap and stayed at another Hotel, This year I'm staying at the Paris also, can't wait...............

Yeah, I didn't stay at the Mandalay last year, and regretted it, so I got reservations at the Paris for this year.
I also regretted having a flight home right after the Sunday session was over. Having a bourbon tasting and then climbing on an airplane to fly home.....wasn't the best choice. So this year we are staying the extra night so we can enjoy the effects of Sunday much better!
