This morning I had a RP The Edge Maduro. This afternoon I finaly lit one of my Padilla 1948 Lancero's. This cigar was tremendously complex. Started with heavy black pepper notes that turned into a sweet/ spicy flavor that had heavy notes of clove. Almost a birch beer flavor. It was both earthy and woody. The draw was a bit firm but became very smooth and easy halfway through. More on the mild side of medium compared to the medium to full of the Miami Lancero. I must say this is the most refined and complex of the Padilla line. It's a winner.

Today was a very good cigar day for me. I started in the morning with a 601 red label. After lunch I had a LFD double ligero lancero and right now I am smoking an Ashton puro sol beli.

Just finished having a Padron original series corona size, not sure what theyre called. Did not enjoy it very much. It was a very monotonous cigar, a little on the bitter side too. Burned very well, I waited to see if it might change up a bit half way through, yet it stayed the same flavour throughout. I started this hobby with cubans, maybe now im just spoiled lol. I must say the worst cuban ive smoked tasted way better than this NC. For those who have never tried CC's, ill tell ya, BIG difference.
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII have become, comfortably numb.

Long (happily) summer night here. '98 Upmann PC with margarita before and while grilling salmon. Romeo Ex. No. 4 watching Ken Burns amazing and gut wrenching PBS series on World War II. La Aroma de Cuba Corona Minor now catching up with Baseball tonight. Not many nights left here to linger late wearing shorts on the screen porch so I am milking every last one of them before battening down the hatches.

I got back to my base camp. I am transfering to a FOB. After packing I spent the evening with friends. Steaks and baked potatoes on the grill some near beers (I hate General Order #1) and a couple of Bolivar's. A bright moon a cool breeze and the sound of a .50 cal going of occasionally in the background somewhere. All in all an excellent evening.
Started out with a Perdomo Lot 23 Robusto Maduro ehhhh not to my taste. I switched to one of my go to smokes. Casa Blanca Robusto Maduro mmmmmm very nice. Enjoying with a glass of Napoleon on the rocks or maybe 2 glasses lol.

Last night I had a La Finca cigar that a friend gave me. This cigar burned poorly from the begining and went out shortly after I light the cigar. I didn't leave it sitting for too long without taking a puff, so when it went out I figured it was just not going to be enjoyable and I tossed it since I hadn't paid for it.
