I was just noticing that I've become a very "wet" smoker over the last year or so. My cigars used to be nearly dry when I finished, but as of late, I chew more and the end is nearly soaked when I'm finished.
Just wondering how everyone else smokes, and if I am harming my own experience by allowing this to happen.

I stay as dry as I can - letting a cigar get wet doesn't do anything good for it's flavor, at least in my experience (and it brings back ugly memories of chewing tobacco from my mis-spent youth - ick!)
So many cigars, so little time...

Years ago when I smoked machine mades I would stick a cigar into the side of my mouth and by the time I was finished with it the cigar was just a mass of wet leaves.
With premium hand rolled cigars I sometimes bite the head, but I do not chomp on the cigar and except for the part that actually goes into my moust the cigar remains dry.

I prefer dry but I always end up doing something with both hands and can't hold the cigar...then I just drool all over it while biting lol. Wait, we are talking about smoking right? =P

it has to be dry! a wet cigar gets the worst flavor smoke from them. i even wipe the tip of my smokes off with my shirt every 5 ninutes to keep it completely dry.
When I started, I always tried to keep it dry. I just barely touched it to the outside of my lips and constantly wiped it off.
Now, I dont baby it so much. But I try not to soak it. I know there's a lot of people who, after they're done, end up with their cigar looking like a big brown raisin.

Honestly, I wouldn't want to chew too much on the cigar. I like to keep the cigar out of my mouth as much as possible when not taking a draw. On the flip side to that, I also like to take a moment with the cigar in my mouth. Like if I'm doing something with both hands or watering the lawn, walking down the sidewalk. It's really hard to tell. I don't like to get the thing to wet. Never really thought of what a 'wet smoker' is and what one has to do to be considered a 'wet smoker'. Damn, are there guys out there that just slobber their cigars all up?
