Summary: Following the gulf war, Iraq denied have weapons all the way up until about 1995. It was then that they admitted to owning tons of weapons and having all sorts of programs. About 20,000 people in the payroll of the govt to run these programs.

UNSCOM destroyed a good amount of material, but still the inspectors were constantly denied access or delayed access.

In 98, Iraq decides it just won't comply anymore and kicks out the inspectors.

So where did you get your facts?

I'm not saying that going into Iraq was the right thing to do... but to sit there and have the nerve to say that Iraq was innocent all time is simply idiotic.

Any fool can read over the history of the UNSCOM inspections and see how many times Iraq was caught red-handed with tons of bio weapons in the 90's, or how many tons of material for bacterial growth was imported into Iraq and never accounted for, or how long they lied about not having bio weapons programs and then were forced to admit to them, how they kicked out the inspectors in 1998, etc.

Was the mid-late 90's really all that long ago?

Personally, I feel we shouldn't have gone in for other reasons....but WMD's was not one of them.
