I'm currently visiting in the Washington, DC area and went to cigar aficionado's website to look for cigar friendly bars/lounges and noticed that what they claimed was a cigar friendly place, namely the Lobby Lounge at the Ritz Carlton Pentagon City in Arlington, VA (close to Wash., DC) may not be the case. I just called that hotel and they let me know over the phone in no uncertain terms that no smoking is allowed anywhere on the premises. So what gives? VA is/was a tobacco growing state; did all the municipalities there just pass a no smoking ordnance?
I live in ALexandria and can recommend you a couple places.
In arlington there is Bungalo Billards, just your regular pool hall, with decent food, cold beer. Also there are a couple places in Old town Alexandria. Southside 815 and Union Street Pub
Let me know if this helps, email in profile if you have any questions.
