I'm currently visiting in the Washington, DC area and went to cigar aficionado's website to look for cigar friendly bars/lounges and noticed that what they claimed was a cigar friendly place, namely the Lobby Lounge at the Ritz Carlton Pentagon City in Arlington, VA (close to Wash., DC) may not be the case. I just called that hotel and they let me know over the phone in no uncertain terms that no smoking is allowed anywhere on the premises. So what gives? VA is/was a tobacco growing state; did all the municipalities there just pass a no smoking ordnance?

I heard they're going to go door-to-door and confiscate all humidors.

Yes, even in VA they are doing this stupid rule.

I live in ALexandria and can recommend you a couple places.

In arlington there is Bungalo Billards, just your regular pool hall, with decent food, cold beer. Also there are a couple places in Old town Alexandria. Southside 815 and Union Street Pub

Let me know if this helps, email in profile if you have any questions.

Ritz-Carlton is part of Marriott, which instituted a full indoor smoking ban for all hotel brands in 2006.

Check out Shelly's. I frequented here a few nights when I was in DC last summer. Great place!

Steve don't even kid I woudl have to move!

Shellys is the best if you what to enjoy a cigar. The METRO runs very close to there from Pentagon City Ritz.

Thanks for the info on the Hotel I will stop booking my guests there and find another more REASONABLE place. I can only vote with my dollars.
