I looking for a rugged and dependable lighter for the outdoors. One that can be bounced around and still function well. Any suggestions in the $30-$50 range. Thanks.

Have you thought about a zippo?

Welcome to the CA forums!!

It cost a little more than your price range but I have a Viotorinox Swiss Army Knife that has a torch lighter built in. It is called CampFlame they make another model called the SwissFlame. They dont sell them in the US and Canada but there are several web sites that are in Europe that advertise that they will ship to the USA.

Ditto.

I've got a Colibri ATL torch liter that I really like...not sure if it's in your price range, but it's a good lighter.

A good cigar and a good drink on the back deck by the lake...if that doesn't make you relax, nothing will!

Get a torch. If you are looking for a lighter that will light in wind, wet and harsh conditions, the torch is the way to go.

If you look around on websites you can get a decent Colibri lighter for under $20. You can get a no-name brand for less, but I wouldn't want to have to rely on it.
