Private bikes are slower?
And who provides those anyway, the Ministry of Silly Rides?
Very good, the city gives free ad space to a french advertising company and in return they provide 400 bikes around the city. It's not exactly free, there's a €10/year charge. The first half hour of every journey is free, mine are never more than 10 minutes. It's a great system, I can cycle in, walk home and I still have a bike in the morning.
