That's a Cigar Oasis Ultra, pretty new addition to their line, works like a charm. Cigar Oasis

US_Tank, is that a bargain humidor Antietam Cabinet Humidor?

If it is how do you like it? Also did they get it to you fast?

Thanks

Wow Thanks a lot. I just saw it in your humidor and a red light just went off in my head that I have to have it. It just looks like it would work perfect for my 300 count. I appreciate the reply.

Do you think that it will work in my humidor? It says for 125 counts or 2 cubic feet.

My Humidor

That is in fact a BargainHumidor Antietam! I ordered it on a Monday and received it on a Friday!

I spent 6 days to make sure it was properly seasoned. Then I added 25 cigars per day until it was full! Within one month I had already outgrew this darn thing.

As for the humidor I love it! It looks fabulous also. Ininitally, I had some issues with the Hydra that it came with. I was getting alarms every 3-4 hours and it was driving me nuts. BH's never answered their telephone. I emailed BargainHumidors and got no response until I kindly busted their chops publically in another forum after they posted an advertisement.

The problem ended up being the water reseviour and I simply ordered another one and now it works just fine. I last refilled the water about 5 weeks ago and the humidor holds a steady 70%. I keep the RH up some as here in ND in the winter it is very dry.

In all fairness to BargainHumidors I have placed about 6 orders with them for various items and the shipping was fast. They just don't or are very slow about answering their telephones and emails.

It does work very well, and I do think it would handle your humidor, HOWEVER, I think you might be even better off with one of the larger Cigar Oasis models, or the Hydra, BUT you have to make sure there is room for these as they are larger than you might think. Also, the nice thing about the Ultra is that it fits on lid.

I like the Ultra, but I wish it was made out of aluminum and not plastic, it seems kind of cheap - but let me reiterate that it does work extremely well. (So far.) Smile

Yeah I want a to get a Cigar Oasis, but as you can see I need a humidification device that has a very thin cable that plugs into the wall, do the Oasis's have one? It needs to be thin and flat because the top of your humidor looks just like mine and I dont think I could fit a large outlet cable in mine. It wouldnt close properly and I am not drilling a whole for it. So I would appreciate it if someone could answer this question for me.

Yes, indeed, all Cigar Oasis products, EXCEPT for the very large Cigar Oasis II models, use the exact same, thin power cable which is terminated outside of the humidor with a standard pin jack/wall transformer.

The Ultra, XL, and XL PLUS use this same power cable. So does the Hydra.

I should add that currently the Ultra is the only model with an audible alarm. The Hydra also has the alarm and can be calibrated. THEY ALL cost about the same, too, go figure.

I just installed the ultra in one of mine. Famous had a sale on Journey to Chateau De la Fuente Opus X samplers, and it came with the Ultra for $150.

It does take a bit of room. I mounted it to the lid with the battery pack, but the humidor it went into is going to be for tester cigars (cigars I haven't smoked yet or put in the journal)

I'm waiting on the other new humidor to put all the other cigars in to take the place of the other three I have. A Cigar Oasis XL II is going in that one. I'll take pics when it all comes together....

Ok thank you very much for that info. I will be getting a regular Cigar Oasis then that way I can get rid of these garbage sponges right now. Although I must admit, I would like the little alarm for it to let me know whenever something is going wrong rather than find out the hard way. But I check my humidor twice a day anyway so it probably wouldnt be an issue. Thanks again.

Perhaps the Ultra would be perfect then, because you have the lid space, and I think the larger models would be too big for your tray(s) and would have to go down below them. Whichever you choose, I hope it works out for you, man.

And don't blame me if your humidor blows up. Smile

Hey Toasted, how come you are using the batteries instead of the wall adaptor? Just curious. I got the same deal you did, based on your suggestion I believe, it just arrived today. Smile I love the FFOX FX Lancero, it is my pride and joy right now. I'm going to see how the second CO Ultra handles my larger seven drawer humidor...

here's my desktop humi where i keep my day to day goodies!

picked up the Siglo humi late last year in a lacquered cherry red. it's construction is awesome and the seal is as air tight as it gets, and of course, it looks awesome on my tabletop.

http://s269.photobucket.com/albums/jj72/arrow111/?actio...w¤t=closed.jpg

inside, i've an assortment of CC's where what you see is the top of 4 row stacks. it's a bit full so i rotate them every few days. the cuaba's are my regular smoke, so they come and go. the other's are aged, so i try to dip into those twice a week at most. Enjoy...

(disregard meter readings, humi is out of it's usual room for the photoshoot =0)

I put the battery pack in because where I think I will be keeping that humidor is a place that doesn't have a wall outlet. Neither the unit nor the battery pack interferes with any sticks (both mounted to the lid). I like it to be self contained. That ultra unit is extremely quiet too...

Got the new cabinet in yesterday. Unpacked it and put the Hydra unit in it. This morning the RH% had stabilized at 68%. I'll load it up and take pictures later. I have a feeling that it is also going to end up elsewhere in the house (wife actually likes it but is afraid the Hydra humming will keep her awake (it's in the bedroom right now). Some constructive re-organizing is going to take place this weekend.

Always fun when cigars are involved! Anyway, good luck with the new cabinet.
