I want to see what everyone's humidor look like and their collection within those humidors. Here is my humble collection. I got those humi's only a few months ago.
Yeah, I got samplers of the CCs that I wanted to try. They are a bit expensive compared to buying boxes, but I figured it's a good way for beginners to taste them all.
My samplers include: 1 * Diplomáticos No.2 1 * Cuaba Exclusivos 1 * El Rey del Mundo Coronas De Luxe 1 * Fonseca Cosacos 1 * H. Upmann Magnum 46 1 * H. Upmann Sir Winston 1 * Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.2 1 * Juan Lopez Seleccion No.2 1 * La Gloria Cubana Médaille d'Or No.4 1 * Montecristo No. 2 1 * Partagas 898 Cabinet Varnished 1 * Punch Double Coronas 1 * Ramón Allones Gigantes 1 * Saint Luis Rey Série A 1 * Sancho Panza Coronas 1 * Vegas Robaina Don Alejandro 1 * Rafael Gonzalez Petit Coronas 1 * Romeo y Julieta Exhibicion No.4 1 * Trinidad Coloniales 1 * Vegueros Especiales No.2
I'm thinking of getting another 10-cigar sampler. I can only think of some right now. Any suggestions based on what I already have? Here is what I'm leaning toward.
It is very interesting that you are asking CA members to look at your humidor and give you advice on your next purchase.
This is exactly what the CA forum should be used for, and in fact I suggested to the CA editors that they offer this service, with all the senior editors participating and helping CA forum members build the ultimate humidor.
I hope other CA forum members also ask for advice, and I trust some of the more experienced forum members step up to the plate and offer expert advice. And maybe, just maybe, the senior editors (David, James, Gordon and Jack) will step up to the plate and knock one out of the park for you!
Also the more experienced CA forum members (Doc, Extensioncord, Sheep, Peace, and others), should help out here.
And, other forum members should post images of their humidor and ask for expert advice.
Nice topic Bo, and I hope this thread creates a permanent "Help Me Build My Ultimate Humidor" thread.
Oh yea, and no fighting in this thread.

There are a lot of really good 10 sample boxes available out there, so it is important to figure out what your tastes are, and what your smoking expectations are.
For example, do you prefer maduro over a natural, do you like a long robust smoke, or a short quick mellow smoke? Are you buying cigars to smoke now, or in a few years?
Do you have budget restrictions, or can you pick up boxes of 25 with reckless abandon? The one problem with a 25 box, is if the box sucks you have 25 crappy cigars.
Smoke now recommendations: 1) 10 pack of Monti Petit Edmundos (try to get Sept/Oct 06 box with a dark wrapper) 2) Hoyo DC 3) Por Larranaga 4) 10 pack of Monti Edmundos 5) Cohiba robustos 6) Boli RC
Smoke in a few years: 1) Cohiba Piramide EL 2006 (a must have) 2) RyJ Churchills 3) Boli Gold Medal 4) 10 pac Monti D EL 5) Ramon Allones Belicocos
You are missing NC's. Try the Padron maduro 1926 and 1964, as they are sold in handy 4 packs, and are out standing.

Thanks Steve, I have a few NC's but am not very excited about them since nothing has really impressed me like the CC's have. Some of the more interested NCs in my humidor that I will try soon are:
AF Hemingway Signature Ashton Heritage Corona Gorda Ashton VSG Corona Gorda Davidoff Millenium Blend Churchill Oliva Serie V Torpedo Padron 6000 Torpedo Maduro Padron Serie 1926 40th Anniversary Torpedo Padron 1964 Ann. Exclusivo San Cristobal Fabuloso Tatuaje Cabinet Noella Tatuaje Cojonu 2006
my all-time favourites would be the Monte C EL 2003 and the Partagas SD1 EL 2004...
both are superbly constructed cigars... with a very developped flavour profile... they are bit pricey, but worth every penny...
if older EL's are out of the question, try and get a few more trinidads.. I see you have a coloniales, which is a great smoke.. try the smaller Reyes or their bigger brother the Robusto Extra..... both superb.... I always have at least a box of each lying around...
for the Bolivar brand.. although they are very good cigars, they aren't for the unexperienced palate.. they are very strong cigars.. very earthy taste, and will knock you out if you're a new cigar smoker.... keep those for the end
the hoyo double corona is one of Cuba's best DC'S ever... that's all there is to say... it is a MUST on everyone'S list.
you're on a good roll with your sampler... keep on smoking, keep on trying stuff, and keep a tasting log.. because with all these different smokes, you will forget stuff.. guaranteed...
Thanks Sal. Yes, I realized about 2 months ago that it is impossible to remember everything I smoke, so I started a Word doc for myself.
My first CC was a box of Bolivar RCs a friend got for my birthday. I did not think much of them when I smoked them, and I gave some to friends who have not smoked CCs before. Thinking about it, what a waste since they don't even smoke cigars! I have two of those left and will definitely make good use of them.
Your comment cemented my decision to try a HdM DC. I have heard good things about them, but since I usually don't smoke DCs, I was unsure about that one.
And I do agree with Sal's recommendation for the Monti C. Not sure if they some in 10 packs though. Oh no wait, I am wrong, just found an on-line vendor offering 5 and 10 packs. Go for this to Bo.
