As I was sitting outside this afternoon enjoying PERFECT weather, and a pretty damn good cigar, I got curious. I wonder what other people are looking at while they smoke? I don't know that anyone else will care, but I am curious.
So I will start.. If the weather is nice enough, I get to emerge from the garage. My normal smoking spot before winter hit was on my back porch. But all this winter, there has been a giant swarm of birds that flies in every day. This swarm gathers from all directions, until it is about 5,000 strong (if i had to guess). They all gather in a tree, then all at once take off - the sound is incredible. They do amazing acrobatics and slowly - about 20 at a time, they break off into a little group of bamboo trees. Eventually, all 5,000 birds are in the space of about 20 ft X 7 ft X 10 ft. So I watch this every day while I smoke. I feel like friggin Tony Soprano with his ducks..
So this is my view. The picture with the birds is literally about 5% of the total swarm. By the time it gets really huge, it is too dark to get a good picture.
When it is warm, like today, I enjoy a smoke out on the deck.
However the lawn and deck furnature has been put away for the winter and I can not stand for more than a few minutes, so I took our cat, Peter, for a little walk (I carry him and walk around the front year).
I had a Zino Mini-Cigarillo while walking.

My favorite smoke was enjoyed with my wife on vacation. We were smoking a local cigar, on our balcony in the Puerto Plata. We had a very nice view of the beach and a inlet bay.
Sun was just going down. We shared the cigar and had a great conversation.
It was paradise.

I can't wait to get the camera out tomorrow so I can post to this thread. I was even thinking of starting this one myself. It's amazing the shots you can get when you live on an island.

Must be nice to be able to smoke inside. I'm not smoking till it's warm again. I had one today, because we've got a freak heat wave going on right now. It's 14c today, going back down to 4c tomorrow.

These days when I do enjoy a smoke it's usually on my front porch which overlooks a major highway so I am usually watching the traffic and thankful that I am not sitting in my car in the middle of that mess but rather on my porch enjoying a good cigar.

True. The pyramids are some 200 KMs to the South.
