I just posted a new blog on The Passion of the Leaf called Cigars and Spouses. Please let me know what you think either here or on blog.

Response: "Get a $20 bill to taste like a Davidoff and I'll light my entire paycheck on fire!"

Interesting read in re: "Cigars and Spouses".

Personally I wouldn't have to take it that far.

Just the times when we're sitting on the porch and my better half says to me: "That one doesn't smell too bad." is satisfaction enough.

During those oft few times when she says: "That one even smells good." is enough to push me over the edge. Wink

Funny,

I always thought that one of the good parts about cigar smoking is that it kept your wife away...

Nice page EVP!

I have seen women who will vacate the area at the first sign of cigar smoke to those who will ask if you have another one.

My wife will usually take a puff or two off of whatever I am smoking. Her sister will sometimes sit and have a petit corona or robusto with us guys.

Hey Pete,

I like the blog! I agree that its more important that your significant other an attempt to understand cigars than to actually smoke one. Just because we might like cigars, doesn't mean that she will. My girlfriend grew up with her father smoking cigars, so she's used to hanging around cigar smokers and does enjoy the aroma. Oftentimes we'll be out on the balcony and she be studying for law school while i smoke. Next week we are heading off to Vegas again and she's looking forward to hanging out at Casa Fuente and enjoying the sangrias. That is good enough for me!

My wife is an ex-smoker (14 years now) so she is sort of afraid to begin smoking cigars because she might want to smoke again...I understand that.

Like another poster said, my wife will also sate something positive when she smels one that she likes. Ihave had a Don Diego toro size agin for a long time hoping she would smoke it. She did take some drags off of a Don Diego Playboy....very mild and realy smooth. She started to say how she liked it until she forgot she was smoking a cigar and inhaled...well, there goes that....

Although I am extremely turnd on by a woman who knows and smokes cigars..VA VA VA VOOM BABY!!!

GONZO !!!

My wife used to try some of my smokes but the past couple of years she won't. Ever once in while she'll say that one don't smell to bad. Funny how women change their mind.

No matter where you go or what you want to do....there will always be something or someone in the way.

One day a cigar shop worker asked if my wife smokes with me and he recommended it to me stating that it would be another way to spend time with her. NO! This time is for me. I will and am share everything in this world with her. I am not interested in sharing my smokes. She has bought cigars for me though in the past. She is great.

Thanks for the feedback guys...from both sides of the issue. Do I WANT my wife to start smoking cigars? To be honest, no...but that's her choice. However, it would impress the hell out of me if she learned about them enough that we could have a conversation about them.

I like hanging out at the B&M with the guys...it's my way of spending time without the presence of Estrogen (of which, I am surrounded by). Don't get me wrong, I love my wife but sometimes I just need "guys night" where I can kick back, talk to guys and just be a guy.

Great blog.

My wife smokes a cigar with me daily. We usually end our work days with a smoke to relax and catch-up.

She has a good palate, appreciate cc's (Sigilo 111 is her favorite), and even understands various nuances of stogies.

The only downside is that it is a helluva lot more expense buying a stash for two !!

I have zero interest in my wife smoking cigars, I only want her to tolerate my cigar smoking (ie, sit with me outside while I indulge and allow me to shop, etc). Fortunately, she does.
