It all depends on you.. they will age a lot slower with the lid on.. If you are looking for a few months to a year of age ill leave the lid off..

Passive humidification I think either way would be fine. If you’re using a forced air or a unit with fans, IMO storing closed gives you a little more control on the surrounding conditions.

A cab is a wood box with (generally) a slide type lid. They are different than the dress box, which is what you probably have seen most cigars in (the flat box with 2 rows of 10 or 12).
