Hey Guys,
Just bought a digital hydrometer last weekend and went thru getting it calibrated. I put it into my humidor last night and this morning it read 50%!!!. My analog dial was still in there and reading 75%. I'm gonna take the digital's word for it because some of my naked cigars are dry.
The problem now is how do I get my humidor where it should be when I constantly fill the humidifier with solution & also have beads in the bottom???

How did you calibrate it? You can't know which hyGrometer is correct unless you use a calibration kit or salt test. If you feel your cigars are dry, then probably the analog one is off (no wonder there), but you rather check both gauges.

Did you wipe the inside with distilled water? Did you also place a wet sponge (with distilled water)over night to see if it is holding it's moisture? Are you blocking the humidification device with cigars? How big is your humi?

do another calibration. check again.

Digitals are more accurate than analogs as a rule.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. to unknown - Yes I did calibrate it with a calibration test. Then I put my analog gauge in the packetovernight. It came out to about 95% so it was way off.I wiped the inside down with distilled water when I first got it(120 count)almost two years ago. I guess Im just going to buy a bigger unit - maybe a 500 count - and use an oasis.
