Droid Does

This looks really interesting. The key questions is how much it will cost, and its data plan. If Verizon is smart it will be $200 like iPhone. I will be definitely be keeping an eye on this, and maybe in the market for a new phone Big Grin

I bought into the hype and decided to try a Droid out today. I currently have a Samsung Instinct with Sprint and still have a year left on my contract. Although its a serviceable phone, its only really redeeming quality is its turn by turn GPS. Sprint itself is severely struggling and the signal quality in Signal Hill (ironic?) is not that great.

Unfortunately, that means I have to eat the early termination fee, but Verizon (through my company) was able to offer an unbeatable deal: if I order one today, I get $150 off the phone price. I also have 30 days to evaluate the phone and see if I like it. I should get it Monday!

I've been looking forward to the Droid, but as always I wait for others to provide feedback before wasting my time.

Droid can't:
cut/paste between apps
save all types of email attachments
voice dial over BT
can't fully customize home screen

I can do all that and more with my current phone, I've just been looking for something with a larger screen with better resolution. I looked at the HTC Imagio but the camera doesn't have a flash.

Well I bought the Droid Eris made by HTC. I love this phone so far. It only has the Android 1.5 OS, and not the 2.0 like in the Motorola model, but who cares. Although the touchscreen has a bit of a learning curve that I am not used to since my last phone was the EnV2.

I got mine because it replaced three SEPERATE devices for me.

I will be returning it during the 30 days and get one through Wirefly for less cost for the phone/accessories/&loss-replacement insurance.

For those looking, Wirefly should be looked into....
