1. Do your duty. (Kill Gooks)
2. Come home a live. (Kill more Gooks)
3. Bring your buddies home.(Kill many Gooks)

My Lai, had a body count of over 340

Bones,

I tell my young solders the same thing. If someone has to die I would rather it be them than one of my soldiers.

I tell them when in dout shoot and when you shoot, shoot to kill.

I know this may seem unjust and extreem to many of you out there, however how many of you have had to write a letter to one of your soldiers family members explaining how they were killed.

If your job first and above everything else was to make sure all your young soldiers come home alive and with all their body parts what would you tell them? How would you train them?

It blows my mind that these do gooders sit there watching the news and automaticly condem our troops based on a fraction of the facts and NEVER been in a combat situation. Yes I agree they have a right in our country to their opinion. I just wish they would wait till all the fact are in.

I am sorry Raven, I cannot get myself to think about the poor marines in this case.I feel for the poor innocent people (women and children) that were murdered and their relatives that survived, but I cannot get myself to feel sorry for the people that pulled the trigger.

I think you live in an upside down world as I know you really mean what you write.

Blackie1,

We have many things we disagree on but maybe one day we can meet in person and drink a beer and smoke a good cigar. First round will be on me..

I have to disagree on the if you haven't served you have no right to have an opinion premise.
No disrespect meant at all. It's just that what our young men, and you included at one time Raven, have paved the way for all of us (and God bless you) to have the right to an opinion, regardless of what it is.

Personally, I support the right for our 1st in, 2nd in, whatever, to blow the hell out of whatever is a threat to our freedom, BUT...there are limits, that's all I'm saying.

Tabcon,

Yes you have a right to your opinion.

You missed my over all point. You dont have all the facts to begin with. The investagation is not over and these Marines have not been found guilty in a fair trial. Yet you have decided they are guilty and condem them. To be fair about it would it not be wise to wait till the investagation is over before you compair them to the My Lai Massacre.

Before yall get worked up on this....you MAY want to consider Haditha might be a hoax ginned up by the enemy. I am not saying there are not dead...but there are reports that make you go huh?
For example a Reuters photographer quoted in the original story about the shootings at Haditha never mentioned a massacre...but that the bodies laid in the street for a day or more. That contradicts the Time report. Further the "witnesses" to is are not the most credible. For more you can go here http://americanthinker.com/articles.php?article_id=5566

No, I didn't miss 'your' point at all. I think you missed mine. In none of my posts have I tried, convicted and executed anyone. I am NOT saying they are guilty. All I'm trying to say is that IF they are, they should be punished. I think any reasonable person would agree with this.

Based on presently available information, this unfortunate event is not fiction. If it was, it would have been quelled long ago. Exactly who is responsible, be it U.S. Marines or terrorists, should be found and tried. That's all I mean.

Again, thanks for your service Raven. I mean no disrespect.
