I'm relatively new to cigars and this is my first post on this board. I just received a sampler of Padron cigars for my birthday. Do they need some time in the humidor or can I just light up? They were ordered on 5/2/08 from Famous Smokes and came in a gift box with no humidification. They feel ok to me but I am new. Any Opinions.
I would say that just to be safe, put them in the humidor for two weeks before you light up, to give them a chance to stabilize before you light them up.
"Is that a Churchill cigar in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"
I like to let everything sit for at least 2 weeks to settle. More depending on the length of the journey. I think a bad burn caused from over/under humidified cigars can ruin the experience. JMHO, but then again that is what you asked for!
see normally I would recommend lighting one up now and age the rest to see if there's a difference, but I know the sampler is quite expensive and there are only 4 in the sampler. So I really strongly recommend that you let them sit for two weeks to properly enjoy them.

All cigars that I receive through the mail I let sit in the humi. I have smoked some as soon as I get them but they are better when you let it sit (smokes better IMO).
It was an 8 pack sampler with a #1, #2 and #6 serie 1926, an exlusivo, imperial and torpedo serie 1964 and a 4000 and a 6000. All natural I think I will smoke one now and then let the rest sit. Thanks for the tips. See ya around.
