you really ought to change your screen name. using your email address isn't a very good idea (unless you love spam). you can do it in the my space / profile area.

I have not been to one yet. But, welcome to the CA Forum.

But to recap... The best advice I can give is to do the entire weekend. The daily events (breakfast, lunch, speakers, etc.) were much more fun/interesting than the evening we attended.
As far as the evening goes, DON’T bother to arrive early. You will just have to wait in line with a couple thousand guys, smoking cigars, in a poorly ventilated, warm hallway…at least that was my experience. Then when they opened the doors there was mad dash for the cigar tables.
In retrospect, I would have arrived 15 minutes late…the line to get in moved very fast and if they open the doors on time it will have almost vanished by then. Go straight to the food tables. The lines for the food were very long and slow moving the evening we attended.
There was nowhere to sit. If your wife is attending with you, have her wear comfortable shoes. You’ll be on your feet for several hours.
Take a camera and get your picture taken with the manufacturers who attend. I’m sure the Fuentes, Ozgeners and many others will be there.
At the one I attended, many of the booths had registration for give-aways. When it came time to give the items away, they drew names at their individual booths, so you had to be standing right there to wins. There were no announcements. It was very poorly run. Hell, one of the best give-aways was a nice big humidor (I can’t recall who’s it was). Any, one of the f’ing caterers won it! Not sure how CA allowed that. I heard several guys griping about that little f-up.
While it may sound like I regret going, that’s not the case. I’m glad I’ve been to one, but it’s unlikely I’ll attend another. I got to meet a bunch of the oldtimers from the boards and my wife and I enjoyed Vegas for the week.

I agree. I did that last year and it was anything but relaxing. The manufacturers have enough cigars for everyone. This year, we are planning to get to the food first. Then leisurely get our cigars.
