I am looking for some recommendations on cigars that can be bought in the US.

As I am a mostly casual cigar smoker. (maybe 10 times a year, 30 cigars a year MAX). Let's keep it under $20 a stick. What I have liked in the past was a CC Hoyo de Monterrey double corona. I had one and loved it!! What I liked about it most was it's smoothness and creaminess. With that said, I was also told to try some Arturo Fuentes. Not sure if that is a good recommendation or not. The AF anejos was specifically recommended, but as I am finding those are very rare and only come out a few times a year. Thanks for your help.

NC cigars from Nicaragua are the closest to real cubans. Cigars from the Dominican republic have an entirely different tatse. Anything from Arturo Fuente is Dominican.

With that said try anything from Padron in your price range, Don Pepin Garcia Cuban Classic 1979, anything from Tatuaje (red & brown label)and anything from Oliva (I prefer the G and V series).

You may also want to search on the "Tonights Smoke" threads.

go look at Doc's daily smoke thread.. it'll giv you an idea of what people are smoking..

or maybe, look at the gazillion threads started daily by new members that are very similar to yours... it'll give you an idea of what people recommended last year, last month, last week, yesterday and maybe right now....

oh I almost forgot.. welcome to CA....

30 cigars a year for under $20 per stick? That budget allows you to smoke some of the best out there. Why not go for the Padron 1926 Series. They might be too much for an everyday smoke, but perfect for you. If you liked the Hoyo so much, buy a box and smoke those.

Loved the Hoyo, but being in the US and based on my thread in the CC area, I would have no idea where to get real ones for a reasonable price.

As for the other suggestions thanks for the help.

I am a member of lots of other forums, mostly in the wine and spirits category, so I apologize for not reading past threads and getting ramped up before I made these newbie postings. I know better, but the laziness got the better of me.
