With my cigars lately i have been getting some white fuzzy stuff all over a few of my sticks. I am just wondering if this is what they would call good ageing. I apparently heard that the cigar when aged properly gets white stuff on it, but I would like to know what it looks like so I know if its mold or not yet.

Dude, cool your jets. It’s been like 20 minutes. Use the search function and you’ll find all that you could want to find and more on what the white stuff could be. It’s impossible to know by a simple description whether it’s plume or white mold. Keep your humidor at the appropriate temperatures and humidity levels. Smoke the cigars. If you like them, then everything’s fine. If you don’t, change something. That’s it really.

Also, if you post pictures, more people could help this specific case.

Does it wipe off? I never have aged anything long enough to have plume, but as I understand it plume will wipe right off. Mold might smear?

White Fuzzy is usually WHITE MOLD. Wipe it off, lower the humidity in your humidor and smoke the cigars.

Green Fuzzy is Green Mold. This is deadly to cigars. Destroy the infected cigars, lower the humidity in your humidor, replace the humidification element, dry out the humidor, lightly sand the inside, vacuum it clean and reseason it.

White crystals that look like salt are call BLOOM/PLUME. This is a good sign. It means the oils in your aging cigars are coming out and crystalizing.

Green Spots that do not wipe off are water spots. Harmless.

Black Fuzz on the inside of the humidor is MILDEW. Again too much moisture and too warm. Lower both temperature and humidity, dry out the humidor, lightly sand and reseason.

Lol I was in such a hurry because its scaring me. Who wants a whole humidor of cigars to go to waste. Sorry. Thank you guys for your help. I have come to the conclusion that it is or was white mold so i threw out the really bad ones that i thought might make it spread, and then I just wiped it off the not to bad cigars and kept going.

I came across this while using the SEARCH function (imagine that huh!!). This is some good information Doc, thanks. I am actually printing it off and hanging it next to my wineodor. This is something that needs to be at the top of the discusion list, IMO. I have just had my first case of Plume, and of all places, on my CC's, why couldn't it have hit the Padrons or MAXXs???
