i have narrowed my search for a larger humi to two different desktop models. i think a 300 count desktop will be more than enough for me at this point. i'll upgrade to a cab at a later time...
so, have any of you guys used or do you have experience with either of the following humi's? Faenza
No experience with either, but an observation. The Salerno model, due to it's shape, looks like you might lose some storage capacity. Unless you like lots of cigars of shorter lengths, the sides might be wasted space.
Other than that, both look nice.

Looking at them I preferred the Faenza, mostly because the Salerno seems like you would lose some space....however with the Salerno you could put a humidifier on each side where all but the smaller smokes wouldnt fit.

I bought the Salerno about six months ago and have had no problems with it. I think it depends on what type of storage you are looking for.
The Salerno with having the two upper level trays and then a deep bottom is more for singles storage. If you wanted you could probably get a small box or two of cigars in the bottom. If you are looking to store your cigars in boxes then I would suggest the other model just due to the shape. Personally I love the two upper trays for singles storage.
As for the shape of the Salerno, you can fit a at least a Robusto in the corner of the trays and a Churchhill will almost fit to the edges as well. So I don't believe that you lose all that much space due to the shape of the Salerno.
If you do go with the Salerno just make sure to tape off the hygrometer from the inside because it has a tendency to leak from the seal.

From my POV, the cigar oasis is overkill. I have a Barrister that holds 10-12 boxes and use kitty litter/beads which work just fine and are less expensive.

Agree with the above regarding Cigar Oasis, not needed in a desktop, and they take up too much room. Beads or packets work just fine.

thanks for the input guys. i'm hoping to make my decision in the next few days.
DeadMonkey, do you have any pics you can send me or post of your humi? i'd like to be able to see how big the box is and about how deep. i know from the specs on the site, but i'd like to relate it to something... also, how many (avg) do you think you can put on the two trays? 20 to 30 each?
Here are some pics from the humidor's top shelf. It looks like there are currently thirty cigars in the top shelf with still some room to spare. Hope this helps.
