Which, of course, presupposes that a country which has elected white males as President and Vice President in every single election in its history will elect a ticket that contains none. While I think that America is "ready" to elect a black or a woman to either or both posts, I am unconvinced that it is ready to elect two who are so relatively liberal and at the same time. For that reason, I think Obama should pass on Hillary and pick some older white guy - or would that REALLY pin a target on his back? The really unsettling aspect of the assassination of a President Obama is the effect it would have on the already delicate state of race relations in this country.
