is your cooler compressor based or is it thermo-electric ??

also, it sounds like you have uneven RH distribution. maybe putting some small fans in the cooler would help in moving tha air around, and therfore creat a sort of equalibrium..

I have the same like Docbarry and he seams to have no problems with it.
It's a thermoelectric unit.
The problem is highhumidity.
Imagine that i do not use any humidification and I have some times up to 80% RH in my hygrometer.
HELP.
If Docberry sees this post please give me details on how you build yours.
Thank you all for your help.
I hope I am not becoming a pain in the...

are you running the unit ?? is the unit cooling good ??

maybe you should add some more beads too.. you have way too much water in teh air, and another pound or 2 of dry beads might help you out...

Yes the unit is running. No problems keeping the temperature at 65.
Just to much humidity.
I have to control this.
When the unit cools it goes down to 60% but then in a minute or two it goes up to 80%+

The first time I set mine up there was a lot of moisture at the back of the refrigerator and I thought it could damage my cigars so I placed cedar along the back of the cabinet to prevent the boxes of cigars from coming near the cooling coils.

If you use the beads correctly they will absorb excess moisture in the fridge. Do not saturate the beads. Use about 50 ml of distilled water for a pound of beads.

If they are oversaturated, dry them out with a hair dryer.

Use a digital hygrometer and place a small computer cooling fan in the bottom of the cabinet to help circulate the air in the cabinet.

My Haier will go as high as 63 degrees, but admitedly in summer the temperature can go up to near 70. I try to keep the unit closed as much as possible.

Hope this helps.

just add dry beads...

maybe add a fan to help circulate the air.. It should help you...

you might have to periodically dry up your beads if the ambient RH is constantly that high

do they sell those small air freshners with a fan buil-into them in Greece ?? you know the ones you plug in the electricity, and put a fragrance bottle in it to make the room smell good..

over here, they have one they sell (I think made by a Company called OUST) that runs on AA batteries instead of an electrical outlet. if you can find a soemthing similar, you can use it (without the fragrance bottle of course) inside your cooler .. it is a small unit, no wires to run, and runs on a built-in timer that is configured to run for a predtermined amount of time every x amount of minutes (I think 5 min every 15, or something like that)
