I bought my friend a colibri lighter for his birthday this year; about 3 months ago.
unfortunatly I cant remember what style it was, or where I bought it... (Ill have to look through the CC statements)
but anyway; it was a single butane torch, and it had a double blade cutter that swung out the back of it, and it swung lengthwise. I cant find the lighter now on colibris site, but it was there when I bought it.
anyway. from day one, the cutter was loose and fragile, finally the handle broke, it was cheap plastic. this was an 80$ lighter.
anyone know my options? does colibri have a gaurentee or anything? why did they stop making it; though I could guess why.
I bought one. I hated it. I bought another. Major problems. It was a torch, but you were'nt supposed to let it burn for more than 4 seconds.
????
Needless to say, it spent more time at Colibri than in my pocket. It certainly did not light too many of my cigars.
Recently I brought a lighter, another Colibri I had laying around from back in the day, to JA to keep there, as I don't want to risk carrying my dupont with the ever changing airline rules. After using a dupont for so many years, the apparent lack of quality construction is plain as day.
Man, one of the few things that make me happy to leave JA is the happy thought of using my dupont to light my cigars.

Colibri seems to get a bad rap here. I own two. One is a $30.00 Force V (slim and fits in my pocket nice) and the other is a triplex (triple flame quantum) with bilt in punch cutter. I have had the triplex for two years and the Force V for three months. They both work fine. I guess I got lucky (so far...)

I've owned the touch sense lighter for about 7 months and its worked perfectly. My only complaint is that the fuel chamber is a bit small so it goes through lighter fluid pretty quickly. Other than that, I've never had an issue with it.

I've owned the quantam robusto for about 3-4 months now. I'm very pleased with it. The only complaint is the same as above, the fuel chamber is too small.
Does anyone know if there really is a limit to how long you should keep it lit. I think I read 4 seconds above. I've kept it lit longer than that many times (just about every time), but don't want to start having problems down the road.
