Hi everyone, I've been smoking cigars on rare occasions every once in a while for a few years now. I know there are plenty of threads asking about "choices" for a beginner smoker, but each smoker has different tastes.
I'm looking for some cigars preferably some really mellow & also some really strong cigars. I like strong cigars very much but I'm not always in the mood for a strong cigar. When I'm fishing I love a nice mellow cigar. However there are days when I love to sit back, read a book and smoke a wonderful dark, strong cigar.
I picked up a cigar two days ago which I really enjoyed. It was called "Cifuentes Y Cia Partagas 1845" I don't remember the size but the wrap was "Oscuro". It was pitch black with a wonderful taste & aroma. I'm not sure if this is a high quality cigar being a beginner too the world of fine cigars. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
You can't go wrong with the named brands, in which Partagas is included. Mellow: any of the Ashtons aged Maduros. Strong: Comacho Corojo Churchill, Comacho Coyolar Super Toro. Strong and Mellow: Fuente Sun Grown Royal Salute, or Fuente Sun Grown Double Chateau. Welcome to the club.

Yes sir it was. It's quite a nice smoke too.
I appreciate the feedback everyone. I'm hoping too hear a few more suggestions and then I'll take a look around at the shops and pick up one of each too give them all a sample.

I should have had it today. Instead I chose a Brazilia Gol! and it canoed like a mofo. I had to cut off the unburned part to try and save it, re-lit and it still canoed.
Why are John Deere's green? So they can hide in the fields while the Farmall's do all the work.
I would recommend as always Fuente and Padron, but for a nice mellow good flavored cigar Oliva series G
"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points." -Don Pepin Garcia
