Anybody here from the Metro Detroit area? I am looking for a good smoke shop in the tri county area (ideally Wayne county). The place I go to has a huge walk in humidor but the staff seems a little clueless when it comes to anything that isn't newport or marlboro. They do have a good selection of cigars, but I want a great selection. Thanks

Hey champions, I'm in the Detroit area, Downriver. In the Royal Oak area, Smoky's on Woodward, just north of 12 mile is good. They have a huge selection, a smoking area and the staff is knowledgable. Humidor 1 at 10 mile and Evergreen is good too. They have a good staff and the humidor is large. Tobacco Town in Riverview is the place I go most. It's on Fort St. just south of Pennsylvania. Lil Havana at Orchard Lake between 14 and 15 mile is good too. I'm sure there are more, but I've been to all of these and have been very satisfied. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I missed the Wayne County part of your post. There are a couple of shops on Michigan Ave, one is around the old Jacobson's store, but on the opposite side of the street and the other is just east of Telegraph.

OK, it's late and I'm spaced out. My previous post about the 2 stores on Michigan Ave, they're in Dearborn. I forgot to mention the Belicoso Cafe in Wyandotte.

Welcome to the boards. I live in Northville and go to JR's in Southfield @ 12 mile & Northwestern Highway. They have a good selection and good staff. Worth the drive. Trader Tom's in Northville, 7 mile & Northville Rd is smaller but great selection.
Good luck

HumidorOne is gone forever. Wayne County is very large are you downriver, eastside or westside? I think grouchO covered alot of the good shops but you are right it is hard to find more then just a retail store. And the LCDH is just across the river.

Welcome...I am also downriver. If you want a good shop to get a single smoke and have a drink, Belicoso Cafe in Wyandotte is tops...but expensive. Tobacco Town in Riverview is good as long as you dont mind getting into long conversations with the owner...he likes to talk! And if you want to buy boxes, its worth the drive to JR's. Where downriver are you...I am in Brownstown.
Grouch0: I went to the place in riverview that you recommended. It is quite small, but has a great variety of smokes that i had never seen before. The owner talked me into a Don Lino African. I also picked up a Montecristo series V. The shop nearest my house doesn't carry a lot of the brands that he had and i find tobacco towns prices a little better, especially with the 10% cash discount. On the other hand he doesn't have any Fuente's at all and he doesn't have one of my personal fav's the Ashton heritage. The place I go is in Lincoln Park on westbound fort street next to a scented candle shop, its called tobacco gallery. The humi is a huge walk in and he has a great variety. No opus x though (not that i can afford one).

I'm in Lincoln Park too and I know the shop your talking about, I was in there last week, picked up a couple of Torano's. I talked to one of the guys in Tobacco Town about a month ago, they're working on getting the Fuente line. The guy I talked to was hoping they would have it by April.

A Detroit area sit down would be good. I can only be counted on for weekend nights though. I work for Ford on the afternoon shift, therefore I'm limited on availability. Definately interested!
