Hi all. I'm new here and am looking for suggestions to get my husband some special cigars for his 50th birthday. Please forgive me for being a novice, I only know what I hear him speak of.
He is a smoker. He is currently smoking Fonseca's, natural wrapper. He smokes what he calls his winter cigars (Fonseca 5-50) and his summer cigars (Fonseca 6-50). The only difference being the winter cigars are shorter.
We are going to Mexico to celebrate his 50th Birthday. I wanted to surprise him with a cigar *possibly one from Mexico* on his birthday, so that's what brings me here. I was hoping for some suggestions.
The reason I brought up what he currently smokes perhaps can give you an indication of the type/flavor cigar he likes. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
If he is smoking only Fonseca 5 and 6-50' then he prefers a milder cigar. I like a Fonseca early in the day, it's consistent and very good flavored smoked.
One suggestion I would make is to step up the quality of what he is already smoking and try a box of these (Mild to Medium):
Fonseca Vintage CAO Gold 5 Vegas Series A Arturo Fuente Hemingway

they're going to Mexico.. i think he'll be much happier with CC's...
I suggest you try some trinidad coloniales or Trinidad reyes (the cuban ones with the pigtail end)... they are a bit fuller than the fonsecas, but are some of the best smokes out there for someone who is not looking for a full bodies smoke.. trust me, get him some trinidads, and he will be sooo happy
