I always look forward to cigar events. My local shop had HDM tonight and I made out pretty good. He had the normal buy 3 get 1 free which is alright I guess, but the raffles that he had were great. Every hour he raffled off 5 Epicures. To sum it up I won 3 of them and at the end of the night he throws me 5 of the tradicions. Pretty good night for only spending 18 bucks on three sticks. Then for the icing on the cake, my buddy Nick gives me a Padron 1926 80th!
When your local shops have cigar events, what kind of specials do they have? Anyone with some input on the 80th?

I just wish I had a good B&M.

Nice catch on the 80th. My shop has events all the time. 2 weeks ago they had Pete Johnson from Tatuje with everyone getting free Brown labels plus discounts on purchases. Before that they had a San Cristobal tasting paired with Bourbon and chocolate. Usually they have a all-you-can-eat Tri Tip BBQ for $5 plus 1 free stick. They usually get too crowded after a while.

My local just had a Davidoff Winston Churchill event. The deal was $20 got you food and drink and two cigars worth $32. I was unable to make it. I spoke to the guy at the shop and he said it went well. They had free beer since they can't sell it. They also did the standard buy three get one free.

They had a Padron event last year but I was out of town for that. Next month Rocky Patel will be in town. I am fortunate to have a REALLY good local B&M.

The local one here had a Winston Churchill event last Thursday. It would have been better if the rep wasn't a wet-noodle. Didn't raffle anything, and his idea of a deal was buy 4 get 2 free.

On the upside, the B&M owner is fantastic and we had good wine and good conversation. I did pick up one of those Winston Churchills, and I must say that it was indeed a good cigar. About an 87 in my book. I would certainly smoke it again.

I had a couple when they came out.Great construction smooth draw lots of smoke.A real beauty i did not think much of it at the time the flavors where typical Padron.Don't get me wrong it was a good cigar but quite frankly i expected more especially at that price. To be honest for me it was sort of like eating Chinese food sort of empty an hour later looking to eat again.
