I thought I saw a thread a couple of months ago where someone posted a link to their new cigar room that he built in some "dead" space.

It had walk up stairs, 3 walls of cabinets, a leather chair, hardwood floors or tile and it looked great!

Anyone remember this? I think it was in May but not positive. I can't find it in a search.

Yeah, that's not it. I did do a search w/ room and looked for about an hour.

You are the reason that site has such a bad name.

Don't bother, I won't be back.

is a good, disdainful term for those who disparage newcomers with the "newbie" slur. Something that the rest of us can use when we refer to people like Bindersmokedat. Let's see. It has to connote arrogance, elitism, better-than-thouism, junior high level sarcasm and utter disregard for those who, unlike him, have not been smoking cigars since kindergarten. Any ideas?

Hey, neff01, if you like cigars, this is the place for you. Bindersmokedat is not representaive of the posters on this forum. Once you read here for awhile, you'll realize that he's just "ol' Binder". Hey! That's it ... that's perfect!! Let's call them "Binders"!

Ya' know, Binder, did it ever occur to you that people who are not as expert as you actually come here to get advice from those who have a bit more experience. Myself, for example, live in a very small town and have noone to offer advice or to even sit and have a smoke with, so I depend on my time here to soak up information and get advice. It would surely be a shame if "newbies" were afraid to aske questions or make comments for fear of what people like you would respond with.

Not trying to start anything, just hurt my heart the way you spoke to that gentleman earlier.

Please have patience with us so that we may come to enjoy our experience the way you have for so long.

Thanks for listening

Guys grow up that was not mean...you want to see mean go over to the C&CC board and ask for sources or tell them about the cuban cigars your brother in law got for cheap down in mexico...those posts can get mean. Binders post on the otherhand contained actual information albeit not the info neff was looking for but still

Secondly don't be afraid to ask questions. if you ask it someone will answer but you have to expect to take some flak almost everybody does when you are new.

Hooray for the FNG's they seem to have banded together this afternoon. Damm Binder first cA yankin your posts then noobs rippin your style whats this world commin to

binder is a big meany.

looking back through the archives, it seems like there is always a tension here between the newbies and the guys with 500 or more post to their credit. the theme i see in past threads on the subject is that the 'veterans' (a few outspoken ones anyway)are saying, "don't be stupid and we won't be mean." but it's kind of a setup. it's pretty hard not to be 'stupid' when you're new to something.

but whatever. the veterans here hold the keys to a lot of information. if they choose to lord over the FNGs until they've (in their opinion) paid their dues, than that's what the noobs have to put up with until they've stopped being 'stupid'.

What it comes down to, is that some folks don't read enough to properly start. So, they end up asking a question that has been addressed several times already. Then, some forget to, or don't use the search feature.
Any of us FOG's will be more than happy to help with any legitimate questions or concerns.

Come on Guys! BinDer Did help you out, he posted the link you were asking for. Hes just trying to educate you on how to use the site, in his own way. If he was being mean do you think he would have actually looked up the link. Just hang around and see, some of us are just playing. Lighten up a little.

How about "CIGAR GOD?"

Now leave me alone, I am calibrating all of my hygrometers to exactly 70.0% humidity and removing the cellophane from my cigars. Later I will contemplate which is better Opus X or PAM's. Maybe I'll even post a thread about it, asking everyone which is their favorite.

Cigar God I have a question? I got some fuzzy stuff on my cigars, how do I know if its plume or mold. Oh well, I'll just dig all of the cellophane out of the bottom of the trash can and put them back on the cigar. This way it'll smother the mold and kill it, atleast thats what the guy at the 7-11 told me(you know, the one who sells Phillies and whiteowls). He really has a hard job keeping all those quality cigars in peak condition.

It seems that you guys assume too much. Although new to the board, I know what sources are legit, I don't care whether cello is on or off, I know how to do a search, I know if it's plume or mold....

Point is that yes Sir Binder took the time to find the link just so he could show me how great he is and try to rub my face in it since I only have 40 posts.

Hey, I do know how to do a search! Wow, that was hard. Roll Eyes

Neff01 finally gets it! These are good rules, I have officially added them to the B.A.S.E. charter. I am now Cigar God, Stogie is the Pope of Cigars. We have openings for Virgin Mother of Cigars, The Lamb of Cigars and Buddha of Cigars.

It's not a matter of being nice to a "noob", it's about being decent towards a fellow human - especially a BOTL.

Binder definitely is not a true BOTL, IMHO and definitely doesn't get it.

I actually feel sorry for him, he has a classic inferiority complex and acceptance issues.

What do the Internation Standards Organisation (ISO) have to do with these boards anyway.
