Recently, while trying new cigars with what I thought were good ratings, I have enountered some problems. Seems that the first couple of inches were great - then they would burn unevenly. After the uneven burn, they were like sucking a pea through a straw. VERY disapointing!! I may be doing something wrong - no unusal! Question?? What are cigars that you find to be consistant? Always a strong erformer? Never let you down for taste and performance??
Looking for your always go to cigars. Like med to full bodied with creaminess and taste. HELP!!

Motorcycle nut, first off where are you buying your cigars and where are you keeping them at home? If you are consistently getting tight draws, you might have overhumidified sticks. Try keeping them in a ziplock bag for a day or so before smoking them. If they improve, you know your humidity is too high regardless of what some gauge says.

For consistent construction and quality, stick with brands like Fuente, Padron and La Flor Dominicana. The last one will surprise some people, but I have never had a poorly constructed cigar from them. All the above vrnads have a wide range of strengths and sizes, so you could take months just to smoke all they have to offer.

Lastly, there is a gift shop down next to the Pottery on Richmond Road that sells cigars, I think it is called Precious Things or something like that. He is on the right hand side heading towards The Pottery in the shopping center before that closed down Bavarian place. He has a small selection, but he always has good quality. Try a couple of smokes from him and you should get some properly humidified cigars.

Thanks BDS - Yes I know of the shop you talk about> Called Special Somethings. Ken Johnson is the owner and a wonderful person. Very helpful. I have gotten several cigars at his store and all were good/excellent. Cigars I am talking about I have gotten from on line. I take it you vist this place from time to time?? If so, next time you are in area I would be happy to share a cigar with you>

I always find that Avo maduros and Davidoff millenium robustos meet all of your criteria. Unfortunately, it will cost you.

Well..if the problem is only with the cigars that you bought online, chances are you are not doing anything wrong. Who are you buying from??

Buying online, I have bought only from JR's. Primarily because of the prices, but also because I have never had a problem with ANY of the cigars I have purchased. I did buy some of the cuban alternatives that were closer to full bodied than medium..but other than that, nada.



However...I haven't tried the "bucket of Cigars"???
