Anyone else play? I've written a CA feature on fantasy football, and my weekly wrapper about the same subject is going live in a few minutes. Who else plays?

I'm down with fantasy football. Started playing back in 2000, and have been hooked every since. I read your article in the latest issue, very well done.

Yep, I'm into FF. In a small league on ESPN.com.

I Love FF! I won my private leave for the last two years (woo hoo $150 for me!). Unfortunately when I'm playing I take it way to seriously and was alienating my family on Sundays and Mondays. I'm the guy that would have multiple screens open on my TV (57" Widescreen) watching every game I could AND I'd have my laptop running the nfl.com game centers for the games I wasn't watching. Always looking for that key injury to make the waiver wire pickup.

I gave it up for this year though just to see if it would help my "addiction". And so far it's working. I've just been enjoying watching the games.

GO COLTS!

Thanks KD for the kind comments. Tom, I play in three leagues as well. SmokerX, you sound more addicted than I am...

I currently play in two fantasy football leagues. I've been doing it on and off now for the past 5 years or so.

3 baseball leagues, 2 football leagues

I like the baseball better because I prefer baseball and there are many more games to catch.

I've played for 3 years, and when you say "The hobby can turn a casual NFL fan into a football-loving maniac" you can't be more right...It's a tough year to be a Packer fan (still gotta back your team come hell or high water) and I'm glad I have Fantasy to keep me distracted/interested in the rest of the League...

On a sidenote, use caution with your management decisions...a good friend still doesn't speak to me after I made a late trade in last years league (he is still playing this year, the addiction is stronger then the frustration)

Good column on this site...and good article in CA!

Miami plays the lowly Titans today and I am still BENCHING Culpepper after the beating he has put on my team the last two weeks. I wish he had looked this bad in the pre-season.

Well, David, how did you do in Week 3? Anything mentionable?

Anyone else have a good week? I'll end up 2-1 after tonight, to put me 4th in the league.

Highlights? I'm debating sending Brain Westbrook a Thank You note.

I will also admit becoming addicted to Fantasy Football about 7 years ago. I have limited myself to playing in one league but I am assiting my 10 year old son with his team also.

What a great way to become interested in what is going on in the whole league and not just with your favorite team.

I don't really want to talk about week three, but a deal's a deal. Here we go:

League 1 (Home League): My stud, LaDanian Tomlinson, was on bye, so I'm going to use that as my excuse for getting my butt kicked. Had a good game from Housh, but nothing else really clicked. The loss was my first of the season, so it moved me to 2-1, and I haven't been scoring enough points so that drops me from third place to seventh (out of 12 teams). Need a big recovery next week to get to 3-1 and back to winning.

League 2 (Company league) OK, this one's even worse. Going head to head versus my wine nemesis Molesworth, I was blown out of the water. He had Hasselbeck, who turned into the second coming of Kurt Warner, circa the St. Louis years. Nothing worked in that league. I'm now 1-2 and in 8th place out of 10 teams. Not good.

League 3 (the shark league) I actually did pretty well in this league, which is a yardage league, that gives you a point for every yard gained. Touchdowns aren't very important. Had big days from Housh, Steve Smith and Marc Bulger even showed some signs of life. I was one of the higher scorers for the week, but I'm stil seventh place (out of 12), but the teams are grouped very tight. One concern: Sean Alexander is hurt, and he's my top rated player. Need to adjust.

Sounds like you've got some work to do...

I managed a win soely on the back of Westbrook's performance to put me 2-1 in third, 26 points off the leader...lots of dissapointment everywhere in week 3...

You must have had some great draft positions to grab tomlinson in one league and alexander in another. And not to prey upon Alexanders misfortune (there goes all the ESPN highlight reels for about 5 weeks), but our league just opened up to anyones game because of that injury...wonder how much $$ is gonna change hands because of one guy getting hurt...

Well, good luck in week 4...

I took Tomlinson with the No. 1 pick in one league. Would you believe Alexander fell to me in the sixth draft position in my other league? Couldn't believe it.

And no, I didn't have T.O. Had him last year--see my CA story for all the detail you need on that.
