I just purchased a Padron Serie 1926 No.9 yesterday. I am holding off until saturday when the wife and kids will be gone and I can enjoy it in privacy. For those that have smoked this cigar, do you agree with the CA guys that it is the best of the year?
My groomsmen and I will be smoking this next Saturday, May 17 sometime after my wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, I will most likely be the only one that truly enjoys this cigar seeing that a couple of them only smoke cigarettes.

I am in the midst of smoking it this evening on a nice night on the deck. My father in law picked this up for me. I just called him to tell him this is the best cigar I have ever had. I wasn't quite in the mood for a full body cigar, and that is what it looks like. However, as dicussed, it is full yet mild at the same time. Lots of upfront espresso with a nutty aroma, great long finish and nothing harsh left over! An amazing cigar!

I had bought the sampler of four and I thought the torpedo was better. Don't get me wrong, it is a great smoke, but I don't think it was cigar of the year worthy.

But if it was based solely on TASTE and not APPEARANCE, DRAW, and other factors, the same 20 Cubans would be there every year with 5 LE/RE's mixed in...

No sir i do not. It is an excellent smoke, there is no denying that, but my preferences are little more to the Monte #2, or even the Oliva Series Vs, which still blows me away, not only becuase of the quality, but the flavor.
i just blazed up my last series V, which had been sitting @ 69% for about 3+ months, and man!!! that cigar is def. worth WAAAY more then it is priced. not a wonder why they are so hard to come by.
I have smoke about 3 of the Padron Serie 1926 No.9s, VERY rich, woody cigar. tremendous bold flavors. But a bit too bold for me. I like a little sweetness/honey/caramel undertones myself. such as the Vegas Robaina Unicos. IMHO though, i like the Oliva Vs better than the Padron Serie 1926 No.9.
again, just my preferences thats all.

My Top five: 1. Diplomaticos #2 2. Vegas Robaina Únicos 3. HDM Épicure No. 1 4. Oliva Series V Torpedo 5. Rocky Patel Decade Toro
I absolutely adore the 26. Great balance and an amazing complexity of subtle tones while still packing familiar cedar and leather notes. For those of us who have a much harder time getting our hands of CC's (amen to your top 5, Fedor), I feel that it very well deserved the #1 spot on the list.
As for the Monte#2 and the V, they are great cigars, but I do very much feel that they lack the complexity and dimension of the 26. Plus, I have had too many plugged V's to really appreciate them.
To each his own!

Well, I smoked it. I must say it was very good. Good draw, very balanced. However, I also must say that it was not worth the $26 I spent for it. I would rather buy 4 3000's instead. That being said, I do recommend it.
Fired one up this afternoon, after lunch. Was a little something my wife brought back from her business trip where my favorite B&M is located. I must say, this was one of the best cigars I've ever smoked...period...

Hope the cigar was as good as the wedding. Congrats!

I had one of these a while back which prompted the start of a new thread by me. I was blown away by it. Complex yet not overwhelming, and an amazing draw and even burn throughout.
