He really has nothing else to prove, Chuck has been a great and dominant LHW champ but it's time to hang the gloves for his own safety. For the past couple of years all he's been doing is being a big name stepping stone for the younger and hungrier fighters. He just hasn't evolved as much as the new generation and his unorthodox striking and takedown defense that was key 5 years ago have been exposed by Rampage, Rashad, Jardine, etc. as fallable. Now that the mystique is gone (kind of like Tyson after Buster Douglass and L. Lewis) pretty much anyone in the top 10 of the light-heavyweights can and want to beat him in order to rouse talk of a title contention. Even his boss and buddy Dana White knows Liddell has no chance against the current champ Lyoto Machida. But theres no denying his PPV draw. So the way I see it, if he does stay and fight he'll just be another famous gatekeeper for the division.
