No.

But you can do a search. There was allready a lengthy debate on the subject with close minded people accusing me of being a Nazi.

You have the nerve to call anyone "closed minded" while you have that avatar?
Dude...

Sorry, I did not mean to snap at you TSF.

I respect the South, Southern Heritage and Southern History. I respect Southern Heroes like Robert E. Lee and Thomas Jackson. I feel the South has always stood and still stands for conservatism and Christianity.

I believe that today, like no other day we need the spirit of the people who refused to give up eventhough outnumbered and lacking the industrial advantages of the opposing side.

We, modern day conservatives, need a Thomas Jackson to lead us out of the wilderness.

Hence, my choice of avatar.

And no, I don't support slavery and I hate what slavery stands for.

Smile

Also I just love that flag. I mean... It's an awesome flag. IMO best looking flag ever!

And it bears the St. Andrews Cross on it. St. Andrew is the Baptizer of all Rus and one of the most important Saints in the Orthodox Church!!!

See what I mean?

But I am willing to bet 100 dollars a Che Guevara T-Shirt, or a black Panther flag would be just fine in your opinion, right?

I think there are many people who would find the Stars & Bars and a Black Panther flag just mirror images of each other. Pretty much the same thing, in my view, and each would be defended by the person displaying it on grounds other than racism.

As for Che, well ... I think most people aren't aware of history, and regard him as a handsome, romantic revolutionary hero, instead of the monster he really was.

Intresting point.

At least partially true. Perhaps not all people sporting a Black Panther T are automatically wearing it to show hatred for whites... At least I hope not.

I grew up in Alabama but have lived in Virginia for the last 13 years. I'm not sure Virginia still qualifies as "the south". Maybe more rural parts could be considered the south but in the sprawling Hampton Roads area, I'd say no.

I just sprayed Crystal light all over my monitor. Thanks.

I've heard the patriotic descriptions of the "rebel flag" before. That's all fine and good. To the majority of people its insulting, even though that insult may be due to what you believe their ignorance.

The swastika is 3000 years old. For 2900+ years, it was a positive symbol used by many cultures. More recently it was used to symbolize other atrocities, that some to this day claim never happened. A long time ago, I knew bikers that would have clothing or a tatoo with this symbol. I was told it means power. I knew these people and knew them not to be "nazis" or have their beliefs. Their understanding or beliefs regarding the symbol didn't take away the pain or feelings almost everyone else in the world felt when seeing this symbol on them.

Should you not display something simply because it offends people? Definitely not. Feel free. I honestly believe there are plenty of other ways to exhibit ones feelings, beliefs or ideals other than choosing a symbol of offense.

If you're flying the flag to SHOW your appreciation, respect or to honor something you believe the flag stands for, even if its true, what most everyone else will see, even if its due to their own ignorance, is the hatred and negative ideals. If you honestly don't care what other people think, why flaunt the flag in the first place? You can paint the walls of your house, purchase bedding and even buy dishes with the flag if its just for you.
