What a comedy of errors. One would expect a higher level of play from these two programs.
Worst game I have seen in a long time given the expectations.

They deffinately need to push this game back into October (like it was). This would give both teams those much needed "pre-season" games like every other program has (USC vs Hawaii, Texas vs Luisiana Vo Tech, Florida vs Wyoming etc). As a Noles fan, at least the bad kicking game was Miami's curse this time around

green QBs and hype got to both teams. personally, i love the idea of a big game right out the season...just too many things went wrong, a fluke...keep the big games early!!! I'm sick of watching USC/Balls St type of games the first 2 weeks of NCAA.

I agree, but some of the Top 25 mismatches early in the season end up surprising us so a good mix is important. Just look at last week with games like G-Tech beating Auburn, or Clemson taking down a ranked Texas A&M, or the best one of all Oklahoma going down to TCU. Those were great games.
I love it when an underdog wins. On that note, GO DUKE! V-Tech's goin' down! (I know, I'm delusional).

I, on the otherhand enjoyed the game and thought it gives the new season something to speculate about. I enjoy watching the young guys going in, making mistakes yet fighting through them and giving themselves a chance, that to me, is what makes college games exciting. You know going in that there will be gaffs of sometimes monumental proportions yet thats why they play the games. My vote is that it was entertaining and although mistake prone, not something you throw into the garbage heap.

Think about this: When was the last time the Hurricanes ONLY scored 7 points ???
The 9 sacks by FSU was an all time high, yet the media here in Tampa made it sound like Miami won the game ?? How many times did a better FSU team go in and miss a game winning field goal wide left/right ?? Give some credit where credit is due, FSU was a 3 point underdog and WON by 3 !! I'm sure we'll see the Canes again in the championship game...get both kickers ready !!!

I like games that are well-fought, competitive, close, and mistake free. It's extremely exciting to see two sharp teams battle it out. The FSU/Miami game was the total opposite, a battle to see who wanted to win the least. First-game jitters? Probably. But plenty of teams came out of the gate on fire and really impressed a lot of people.
