I like all kinds of music, including classic rock. But let's be honest, a monkey with a drum set could have composed lots of the painfully repetitive music for much of what we call classic rock.

As a drummer i kinda take offence to the monkey with a drumkit comment. I am 25 years old BTW.
Hey, I'm new here, I thought I would make this my first reply
I think there is a dividing line between those bands who come up through the trenches, play local clubs, tour on their own, etc. and those "recording artists" who were chosen based on looks and a decent voice. I like the artists who have their own band and make their own music. That as opposed to the young girl/guy chosen because of looks and marketability, slap them on a stage and have scores of song writers writing for them and composers slapping (mashing up...) tunes for the lyrics and it's all packaged up as a product and sold. With the soul purpose of making cash. Shows like "American Idol" play right into it.
There is a big difference to me. Of course, if you like that packaged stuff, that's fine. It's very individual.

Music is all a matter of taste or what you have an ear for. All music is good music to somebody. Therefore there is a place for all of it. I hate some music but others think it is great. Whatever people want to listen to, they should be able to listen to. That's my thoughts on the matter.
