Every one usually drinks wine, scotch, or other liquor with their cigars. So I was wondering... What cigar(s) go good with beer?
I drink mostly Bud types or ShinerBock, what about you?

Well, I did not muster up the motivation to smoke a cigar. But, I did manage to drink a lot of beer this weekend. Michalobe golden on tap. God the college life is great. Cops are not so great. Actually they weren't bad I did not end up in jail.

I like the Heiniken and some Sam Adams Octoberfest beer this time of year. Coors light and Michalobe golden are the party beers.

I usually drink rum with my cigars. But if it's beer I'm drinking it is either a Point Special or Guinness.

I'll second jmunro: Bass Ale is an awsome British Ale; but I think the American version may differ slightly because of alcohol/volume content restrictions. As an aside, I only drink beer and I prefer Molson Stock Ale or Oland's Export ale. I stay far, far away from lagers... and anything in a green or clear bottle. Red cap ale is nice too - it still comes in the stubbies.

I usually drink Scotch with my cigars if I am having alcohol. The other day though while in Memphis I had a Samual Adams Boston Lager with a Punch Gran Puro and it was outstanding!

I like 90 Shilling Ale from O'Dell Brewing, Fort Collins, CO. Or, Roswell Alien Amber Ale from the Sierra Blanca Brewing Company, Carizozo, NM. Any full bodied cigar works well.

I find that heavy cigars tend to go with beer better for me. I am smoking something a little milder I will usually go for gin and tonic, but if I only have beer, a light one.

I had some Michelobe Amber-Bock the other day with a nice Carlos Torano box pressed beauty and it really went down smooth, cleared the palate so I could enjoy the smoke all the way to a nub.

Anchor Steam is particularly good with a cigar...stands up to it and complements it. Others you can count on are Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Gordon Biersch Marzen. Good stuff.

In a pinch...Lucky Lager...just for the bottle caps!

All cigars go good w/beer. Mixing and matching is half the fun. e.g. Swisher Sweets and Coor's Lite. A PSD4 and an Oranjeboom. And on and on ...

Not that I've tried, but a nice kick your ass smoke and a Duvel or Chimay sounds like a butt kickin. Might have to try that one of these days.

Most strong micro-brewery beers from Belgium and France (3 Monts, La Chouffe, Duvel, Delirium Tremens, etc.) go well with cigars.
But there are a host of local micro-breweries such as Unibroue (http://www.unibroue.com/) which make delicious brews to go with stogies. The Trois-Pistoles and La Maudite are especially adequate.
You can get tem in certain US liquor stores.

Can't help it! It's in my nature, like the scorpion that wanted to cross the river in the famous fable.
But after a few of these beers, believe you me, you'd be talking French to.

Yes, but it works better with French wine.

Drinking rum, on the other hand, makes you learn Spanish: Tourists in Cuba learn it that way, from what I've seen and heard.
