The quite heated discussion in the Fort Hood thread made me wonder. Has anyone here actually read the Quran in entirety?

I personally have read quite a bit of it, we had too for a world religion class back in college, though i did not read it cover to cover.

I ask because of context. You often see quotes from the Quran that are quite shocking. But in some cases (not all) the quote will have been taken out of context, changing its apparent meaning.

Of course. Every night I read the Koran, the Old and New Testament, the Bhagavad Gita, the I Ching ad nauseum every night before I go to bed. I swear it's true.
They are all I need to know.

Out of one, many.

Most of it, not all. I wrote a couple of essays on it.

Mike, it looks like you might need to change the name of the thread to "Has anyone read the Quran (now talking about the scents of home)" - ala the Goodfellas thread.

I have not read the Quran, but my home smells of falafel anyway.
