I am usually an evening smoker but today I woke up early, which I never do, made my son breakfast, started up some coffee, and lit up a stogie. Nothing special, just an HDM tradicion. The first time I smoked this cigar, it was good but not great, tasty, but ended with me wanting more; kind of like an alright where are you feeling. I have heard that your palate is constantly changing, so I figured I would change it up. This cigar tasted totally different! It seemed as though the flavors almost changed, plus I was in complete relaxation. Anyone ever have this experience?

I agree...

Usually in the morning I will have a mild or mild/medium cigar...

but for a time I was smoking the Rocky Patel OLd World Reserve. Man, with a nice cup of coffee it had almost chocolate undertonesand was smooth. So it became my weekend morning cigar for awhile..

then one evening I ws a little short of smokes and decided to smoke one ...and...BAM...completely different. Hadthe same type of coffee, the weather wasnear identical...but the cigar was absolutely different. At first I thought it might have been a bad one...a few nights later I experienced the same thing.

The following weekend I went back to smoking it as a morning cigar..and..yep, back to normal. I like to get up early, make the coffee, grab a good magazine or book and head out on the deck with my german shepherd.

so I guess palates do indeed wake up and change as the day goes on...

the only two cigars that dont seem to change from morning to evening are the Remedios 92 and the Fuente Brevas Royale. These two go with a good cup of offee any time of the day.

GONZO !!!

This has happen to me a few times. I'm usually an evening smoker. Unless I'm off from work (which is rare). When I first started smoking cigars, one of my favorite cigars was the Diamond Crown. As my palate developed, I didn't enjoy them the same and I smoked it in the morning and man, it was good. Now I like to smoke more full body and full flavor cigars in the evening. So, I tried the DC Maximus. At first I didn't care for them but I kept going back to them. They are better with age. Nice cigars. I would recommend them.

I enjoy smoking a Hemingway Classic over coffee at about 10:30 am on my days off. The sweetness is very pleasant with the crisp air.
