So who's it gonna be...Hatton or Mayweather? I was just reading about how Hatton's fans from England have already arrived in Vegas.
Personally, I'm hoping that Hatton puts Mayweather down. That said, I don't think it will happen. I was hopeing De La Hoya would beat him to it and that obviously didn't happen. Mayweather is just an amazing fighter, but he is also an amazingly cocky prick as well. I love that Hatton is just an average Joe that hangs out at the pub with the people from his neighborhood.
And on a side note...I hate that boxing is always a pay-per-view event. It seems that they could make just as much money if not more to have it on a cable channel with commericals in between the rounds. It would make the sport more available to the general public as well, which would boost interest in the sport.

I agree with you creech, Mayweather is a cocky loudmouth a##hole, I was hopeing De La Hoya would have took him out if it was 10 years ago when he was in his prime he would have. So now all my hopes lay on Hatten I realy hope he can get the job done. Not just beat him knock his @ss out so I dont have to listen to another cocky post fight interview

On a somewhat related note. While smoking an excellent Perdomo Lot 23 Robusto Maduro at the local B&M lounge yesterday, I read a very good interview with Bert Sugar, the legendary sportswriter who is a boxing fan as well as a cigar aficionado. Interesting read.
This is the only fight I can think of in a long time that I have been looking forward to watching. Hatton has to be the best body-puncher in boxing, and if he can get inside on Mayweather I think it will be a long night for Floyd. However, getting inside is not going to be an easy task.
It should be interesting to watch the contrasting styles. Hatton is a pitbull who doesn't let up and has devastating power, while Mayweather likes to throw quick punches and then back out, and really lacks knockout power.
I hope Hatton wins this fight, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Mayweather walk away with the title.

This fight is going to be great and someone is going to be put in their place... I just hope its all offense because both of these fighters are stellar.
I think Hatton will win..

I'm hoping that Hatton opens a mega can of whoopass on Floyd Jr. and KO's him so that a dreaded desision does not decide the winner. I don't know where the hell some of the judges come from but most of them are not watching the same fight I am. Also, as of late it's also good to see more of Golden Boy Productions on PPV than Don King's. I swear that it seems every fight King puts on is fixed. I've almost gotten to the point where I won't watch any of Kings promotions

I can not wait for this fight tomorrow! All are invited! I think Hatton has a good chance. He can take a beating that Mayweather would only dream of putting out. He can also hit harder than FMJ.
De la Hoya was a bit disappointing but I think Hatton has a more agile foot. He can certainly last all 12 rounds, so FMJ's strategy of going hard later in the fight is going to be interesting. I also hate that it's in Vegas. Seems like it's fixed right off the bat.

I'm old enough to remember watching boxing with my dad back in the '50s. Twice a week on free TV ... there were the Gillette Cavalcade of Sports fights on Friday nights, and Pabst Blue Ribbon sponsored TV fights from Madison Square Garden on Wednesday nights.
Growing up, Carmen Basilio was a favorite, because his home was also in central New York State and we thought of him as a local guy. We'd watch Sugar Ray Robinson. The two great Rockys, Marciano and Graziano. Seems like some guys fought every couple of weeks back then ... like Jake LaMotta. Jersey Joe Wolcott. Bobo Olson. Joey Maxim. Ezzard Charles. Willy Pep. Jimmy Carter. Archie Moore.
As a kid, I didn't know anything about the fighters in those days being in the mob's pocket. It was said Blinky Palermo and Franky Carbo had fighters and judges so deep in their pockets, they used their lint for pillows. Watch film of the Johnny Saxton-Kid Gavilan fight sometime and see Saxton take away Gavilan's welterweight title without laying a glove on him the whole fight.

I'm hoping hatton wins as well, i havent watched him fight much, but hopefully it will be on HBO on demand so i can watch it after the semester ends. Right now i like watching middleweight kelly pavlik, he has a very heavy hand for someone that lanky.
DAMN, Im Thirsty! I want a beer, how bout you? You want a beer?
I'm a huge boxing fan and go to local fights in the Detroit area, usually sponsored by the Kronk gym, quite often. I'll be rooting for Mayweather because I've followed most of his career as he's from Grand Rapids. I expect the majority of people to root for Hatton, just as they had for De La Hoya, Floyd Jr. rubs a lot of people the wrong way. If you're looking for a great up and comer fighter, you need to check out Andy Lee he's been Emmanuel Steward's pet project the last few years. He's a great southpaw middle weight.

Going to hang out with some good freinds tomorrow and hopefully a good fight. I plan on having a cigar after the fight, and I hope it's a victory cigar for Hatton.
Not just a victory cigar but a knocked his a** out cigar!
I do not want to see a desicion, because we all know how those end.
I still can get over it but.....Klitschko would have beaten Lewis a few years back. The ring dr. stopped the fight. Its frustrating!!

Good to see most of you boys over the water want that chippy prick Mayweather to get his comuppance too.
It's a tall order for Hatton to win. He'll need to get stuck into him in the opening rounds and not let FMJ's extra reach do all the talking, whilst hoping he doesn't get too cut up.

Well said. Mayweather is going to be alot to handle. However, I think Hatton might be able to get Mayweather to step in close and brawl with him in the later rounds. That's where Hatton can do some damage. My prediction, Hatton in a decision.

Listen man, I want Mayweather to get his s#it punched out of control good.
But this is what's gonna happen.
First round, both come out cautious. Nothing exciting happens.
From the second to fifth round Hatton is gonna lay some insane pressure, which Mayweather is going to completely dodge. Hatton will become frustrated.
Sixth to the final round, Hatton will look discouraged that his pressure has no effect, and Mayweather is gonna keep dancing around the ring, hitting on occasion, and not doing anything terribly exciting, while Hatton gets a few ineffective flurries in every once in a while.
Mayweather by decision, and we all decide to continue drinking and smoking and wondering why we keep paying $50 for Mayweather fights.
God I hate Mayweather.
And Jonesy, Hatton is indeed an incredible body puncher, but I think Cotto is getting up there as well. Still don't think he's ready for Mayweather, but if he keeps improving up on his spectacular defense against Mosley, I think he could be the one to take him out.
