does anybody have this Z-Plus insert for their zippos? no matter what I do I cannot get it to ignite. I shake the can, put the knob to the - side all the way and fill and it still won't ignite. However, I can hear the gas coming out. Suggestions?

I have one, and it worked great for a few months, but now it is giving me the same problem. Some times it works, some times it won't. Try depresuring it and refilling.

I was with someone who used one this past week. Even in the wind and snow at 22 degrees his was working perfectly.

RAd62,

I have one and also had a problem initally but fixed it. I did the following:

1)Take the insert out of the zippo and see if it ignites while being out of the casing. Put the flame on the highest setting. If it lights go to step 2. If it doesnt send it back its the insert itself.(also be sure to have quality butane, I use Colibri.)

2)If you look at the bottom of the regular zippo lighter that you are replacing with the z-plus you will notice it has a padding on the bottom, therefore you need to pad the bottom of the z-plus insert as well. I dont know why but thats the only way my z-plus would work. I used the cardboard off the side of a small box of matches to give it a padded lift, just make sure you can close still close the lid.

If it ignited out of the casing this will work so you should now be in buisness, happy smoking.
