I have been a member since I was a kid and I am now an Endowment Member. My Father is also an Endowment Member. Both my grandfathers were Life Members.

I am soon going to become a member, as I intend to purchase a rifle soon. Or some other type of gun.
Reason I now want a firearm...the Board of Stupidvisors of the city where I live are about to pass a law banning any city citizen from having a firearm in their house. Just tell me I can't do something...and that made my blood boil.

I'm not looking to offend anyone. I am not a member and don't own a gun. Although I make two hunting trips/year to VA to meet some old college buddies. (only hunting I enjoy is bird, first quale/pheasant type and then duck...deer/turkey bores the heck out of me.)
anyway, its my opinion that the NRA has a bad image. True its not all about image, but as anti-gun movements continue to grow, image becomes more of an issue.
I just think, if the NRA was run more like Ducks Unlimited it would greatly benefit the pro-gun groups. anti-gun people are only encouraged by maniac charlton heston type extremists.
So what's up...do you guys side with the NRA anything with a trigger should be legal or are you more right center? do you members have any issues with the NRA?

NRA, by far the most effective advocate for 1st and 2nd Ammendment rights; such an organization is needed by smokers to fight the nanny-state Nazis...; I've been an NRA member for 5 years.

Why is it that every time you turn around the anti-gunners want gun owners to compromise more and more of our Constitional right to own firearms? Because they want a total ban on guns and know the only way to get it is to compromise use into believing that gun ownership is a privalige and not a right. After this happens you can kiss this right to own a gun good buy. A compromise between food and poison is death. Its still poison. I should never have to compromise my constitutional rights.
In this country groups have more power to influence lawmakers than individuals and the NRA is the strongest weapon we gun owners have to fight the left wing liberal anti-gunners. Where is the ACLU? They are defenders of individual rights and the rights we have under the US Constitution. This is the only right they turn their back on. It makes no sence for them to fight so hard to get our government to free terrorist we have in jail but not say a word about individuals right to own a weapon to defend ourselves.
I should as given under the second amendment of the US Constitution be able to own anything with a trigger.

The NRA. Nah. Not for me. I don't like their spokes persons.
Canadian gun ownership rights have already been sent down the tubes by your nanny-state government...., its probably too late for the NRA to be of any help to beleaguered hapless Canadian gun enthusiasts...
I work in a sporting goods store, at the gun counter. I sell guns on a daily basis. I own a few guns. But I'm not a member of the NRA. Don't ask me why.I guess it's one of those things that I keep meaning to do, but just keep putting off.

Don't have guns, don't want guns, don't belong or want to. Also don't think that the second amendment applies to private gun ownership unless the individual is participating in a "militia."
