lol. The two I've had were not bad, perhaps a bit young/sharp. They were both Londres, one maduro and one "natural" (whatever the hell that means...is the maduro unnatural? grrrr....). I liked the non-maduro one much better and it was pretty mellow.

I want to restate how much I HATE the whole maduro/natural thing going on in the U.S. market. "Maduro" is a shade, like "colorado", and "claro", etc. The fact that cigar manufacturers outside of Cuba think that they need to break them into two “options”, one of which is called "natural", for Americans is both embarrassing and insulting. Meh!

I smoke more Padrons in a year than any other cigar. the 3000 maduro is one of the best 4 dollar cigars on the planet. the 26 #1 in Maduro is the finest NC IMO

"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points."

Ive had 2000 and 3000 Padrons and did not like them personally, so earthy it felt like I was smoking dirt.

The 1964 series however is a wonderful experience in looks, touch, smell and taste and are some of my most prized smokes.

To each their own.

Yes, the US comprises the majority of the NC market, and for them, maduros are "unnatural" because they are cooked! Big Grin

If and when NC makers stop "cooking" their maduro wrappers, they will then be considered "natural" too, as the cuban maduros are. I'm not holding my breath however, nor do I care, as I'll stick to my CCs and enjoy the taste of real maduro (ie, made the natural way).

The natural 1964 is the only padron I have loved (didn't like the 64 maduro).. I have a '26 in the humi waiting for a good moment, I am expecting good things from that one. As far as the 1000 series, not bad, but not great.

I can't remember ever having a Padron I didn't like. I've only had 10 or so, but they were all nice. Although hard to go wrong with 64s and 26s

The last one I had, I think it was a 3000, had a really really loose draw.

It smelled good and had an OK flavor, but it just didn't last as long as I wanted it too.

I got a box of 3000 unnaturals and they just didn't do it for me, tasted kinda plain. I left them aging in the humi to see what's going to happen in a month or so...

By the way, I feel exactly the same way about Olivia G, another brand I read a lot of good things here - another box aging in the humi Smile

Those two and a box of Cohiba Blacks are at the bottom of my humidor, maybe I'll get around somking them some day.

Padrons are what I started out smoking and I always have them on hand for those times I open the humi and don't know what I want to smoke. They have never let me down and there is one for every occasion. The regular line or the 1000s for every day or any one of the Annys for special occasions.

The 64 maduro/natural are some of favorite cigars. I've only had the 26 in a natural, and it was great too. For some reason the 1000 series just doesn't do it for me. They're not bad every once and a while, but for me they lack in the flavor department.

The 1926 #35 is like nothing I have ever tasted before. I never thought I'd refer to a cigar this way, but it's actually like bighting into a chocolate bar the flavor is just so intense and coupled with an amazing espresso flavor, definitely my favorite Padron

The Padron 3000 natural is my favorite smoke (price considered). It's my everyday go-to smoke. I really love Nicaraguan puros.

With the exception of Arturo Fuente, Dominican and Honduran tobacco always comes-on as somewhat acrid to my palette.

I love Padrons. I feel the 64 natural is right up there as best NC.
Everyone has their own taste preference. As far as # 1 cigar of the year? I have a slight problem with that. The fact that the Cohiba Robusto CC didn't even make the top 25 is criminal. But again, taste is subjective.
Padron 26 top cigar? Not in my opinion. Top 10? of course.
They are fantastic cigars but not for everybody.
For those who believe that all CC's are better than non CC's take this challenge. Smoke a Jose L Piedra Brevas and then smoke a Padron Delicias natural. Same price points and roughly same size. Both straight forward rustic tobacco flavor from their respective countrys.
Tell me which one is better. Please have an open mind. I believe the majority will say the Padron.
Maybe this isn't the right type of challenge but I just think that some Padrons and some other cigars, Don Pepin Black, Padilla Miami Lancero, are better than some Cubans.
