Okay, I have a Xikar Executive lighter that I bought a couple of months back. I know its one of the cheaper ones, I took care if the thing really good. I have one question though.

Why does my 3 dollar Ronson torch flame work better?

The flame goes literally goes about an inch and a half high and it is more resistant to wind.

What is up with that?

I'm in the 60-100 range. I'm looking at the Colibri Enterprise Triple Torch and the Siglo Slide Cap.

My executive works great. Been using it a year and it performed tonight as well as it did the first day i got it. I will say that it doesn't hold a lot of butane, but as a casual smoker that doesn't bother me a whole lot.

Maybe I just got a bad one to begin with. I have to put the level at a little more than half. Anything less than that will not light.

Bought a Xikar Ellipse Triple Flame Lighter and it is great. I have been struggling with a Zippo Blu for months now. I have sent the zippo in for repair twice (2) now and it stil does not work. I e-mailed Zippo and same day purchased the Ellipse. Elliipse has come before Zippo returned my email. Lighter is great and has not failed to light once yet.

Wow, I was at Finks a couple of days ago and didn't notice the sale. I've had some of the same experiences with some lighters. My Ronson that I bought at Wal-Mart is extremely dependable while a couple of Colibri's I've bought just stop working. Not putting the cheap butane in them either. Haven't tried a Xikar or Dupont yet, maybe give one of them a try.

I have the same problem with my Xikar, I am filling it up everytime I smoke, and then sometimes it still doesn't work.

Anyone have suggestions for a good lighter under 50.00? I know thats cheap but what are you gonna do?

That Ronson you sent me in the Secret Santa package has become my favorite lighter - works better than any of my Colibris. Thanks again!

It has been my experience that Colibri's are beautiful, but don't last long. I have had two and have had problems with both, neither work now. The last year or so I have been using the Z-Plus insert in a zippo and it has worked great, not a single problem yet, and you don't have to refill very often. I use Colibri butane and the z-plus is great, and only like ten bucks, you just have to have a zippo. I love the look of my Colibri's, but no luck with them at all. I had one work for about six months and that was the longest, it stopped working so I sent it back to Colibri for repair, they repaired it and in about 4 months it stopped working again. Another Colibri only worked for a month before it quit. I wish they were built better.

Thats whyi sent it. Its one of those lighters that most people would just pass up or never think about.

So I figured what the heck, no one can have too many reliable lighters.

Your Welcome!

So the z-plus is great? I have about 4 zippos at home that I love, but never use for my cigars?

Where did you get yours from?

Hawk,

I got my Z plus from Famous Smoke shop online I believe, I think it is 9.95. The cool thing about it is you can pull it out and use it in any standard size zippo. I have been real happy with it.
