I visited the HQ of Tabacalera Perdomo this morning in Miami Lakes. Nick Jr's brother Billy gave me the grand tour and answered tons of questions for me. As many of you have experienced and commented, their hospitality is outstanding. They have made a number of changes in the last 2 years from using different presses to a more vertical integration to overcome some of the contstruction issues of past cigars. I personally smoked 3 Perdomos in the last week and they all burned very well.
I have never smoked a Perdomo cigar that burned correctly. Sounds like they are trying to address "construction" issues.
I always thought they tasted alright. I would have a hard time moving beyond my poor first impression of them. Looks like a nice facility.

Good grief, dude...you do a fantastic job...they should pay you for this! Thanks. It's a long way from Phoenix to visit those places. You made me feel like I was there.

An excellent job as always Andy. You have a gift that so few possess, and and wonderful photographic eye. I do wish I could have gone with you today, and I do appreciate the thought about being locked in the cooler with the Cameroons. I might just have to put that in my will...lol

Andy, what a very nice job, as usual...You make so many sacrifices for those of us not so lucky cigar lovers, and we graciously thank you ...no wonder they call you the superman of Miami
(Do ya'll think that was laying it on a little too thick?...all for some of those edition silvia's and cameroon reserva's

Thanks guys. I LOVE doing this. I feel like I am going on a field trip like some big kid!
PapaRick, you KNOW I am dying to smoke that thing tonight! But I gotta hold on and let it sit. I did bust into the La Tradicion sampler already.
Blue, I think you need to have your ashes scattered in that Cameroon cooler! I saw all those boxes and I thought: "I gotta take a picture of this for Mike. He'll FLIP!"
Just found out that Alec Bradley and Oliva are local too... Ah, so many places, so little time!

Fantastic Andy...Thanks for the virtual tours. Being on the West Coast I never get to see or experience any of this. And you do such a good job of it. They should hire you for Promo's.

I agree that their logo is superb. Tell the truth, you are being privately paid to promote these brands arent you (at least in free smokes). If not they are getting promoted better than Madison Ave. could do for them. Great job and where do you find the time to do all you web writings and postings?
Let me know what weekend you want to get together down there and go to Alec Bradley and Oliva Andy. I will do my best to get off and take a trip down to go with you. Maybe one weekend we can also go to Torano's. I could think of nothing better to do than walk around those places than with my bud from Miami.
I don't have your photographic eye, and your gift of write up, but I do love talking to these fine people and the work they do. I'm always up for a road trip to do something like this, just wish they'd change my work schedule back to only one six day work week a month.

Blue, it's a deal. We'll try and work that out for mid to late July. I'm going to write to Jose Oliva and see if I can get something set up. Maybe it will be best for all after the RTDA in August as I am sure they are gearing up for that big time. Or maybe July is "dead time" prior to the show and they have time to wow the aficionados! We'll find out.
Rolo, thanks for the props. Nope, no "kick-backs", just an aficionado who loves this newfound passion. As for time, I'm kinda a workaholic. And my wife and 3 kids are off traveling on the other side of the world. It's either do stuff like this or drink HEAVILY! :P
Airborne, how about we do a little jump into Pinar del Rio and check out those "other" factories? That would qualify you for the Iron Mike, wouldn't it?
Thanks Bgoodz, you can pay me in Central Coast Cabs, ok?
