Just wonder how long do you draw for?
1 sec, 2,3,6 sec draw?
How are do you draw? I know for sure that when you draw too fast it taste bad and your cigar peel out like some one put a bullet down your cigar.
I know that everyone has their own little perks and ways.
I just wanted to get a general idea.

6-seconds? You would have to be a Hoover vacuum to do that.

A draw should take from under a second to perhaps 1-2 seconds at most otherwise the cigar will start to become very hot and the flavor will be ruined.

When I smoke a Zino mini-cigarillo I limit the draw to under a second and let it sit for a minute before puffing again

My God at 6 seconds you must be killing that cigar and all the taste.

Me, I take a small draw and let it out slowly to linger around me and then another for effect and usually wait about 1 to 1.5 minutes for the next draw.

I recently watched a new smoker smoke a R y J churchill in about 20 minutes, I had to ask if he just started smoking cigars and he asked how I knew that. Well I said you just murdered that beautiful cigar in record time.

What a waste.......... I almost had a tear come out......................

It varies, but as noted above, six seconds seems a bit extreme. Sometimes, I do like to take a long draw on a particularly nice cigar that I'm enjoying; the longer the draw, the gentler so as to keep from burning too hot. Visualize "sipping" slowly, as opposed to slurping/chugging. Wink

Also as noted above, how long you let the smoke linger in your mouth affects taste.

one of my favorite ways of smoking is to lay on my roof and look up at the stars. i keep the cigar in my mouth the whole time (untill it needs to be ashed). i place the tip of my tongue over the punched whole on the cigars tip so i can breath fresh air between draw's. i take many 1/2 second draws allowing the smoke to stay cool and spinning around my palate. i feel it is the best way to get all of the flavors from the cigar. when i just smoke it like a cigarette and take large draws i feel overwhelmed with smoke and it gets too hot and ruins the complexity of the leafs flavors/tastes. Cool

Depends on the cigar. 1-3 seconds, usually around 2. If the burn isn't producing the amount of smoke I want, I will puff 2 or 3 times in succession before I'm satisfied and allow the gar to rest.

PS- I always wet the head with my tounge before lighting. No specific reasoning, other than habit. I suppose that I like the flavor.

I usually take about a 1-1.5 second draw. But I take about 3-4 puffs in succession. I feel like it allows me to get the most flavor without burning to hot. Each puff gets a little fuller as the cigar gets more air pulled through it.

Thank for the reply!
Yeah I know 6 sec is a long draw.
Most of the time I like 3 sec draw.
I wonder if the cooler the smoke the more favor?
I never have rest my cigar for a min! I alway worry about it going out! I really hate re-lighting the cigar. Once out its done.

I usually take about a second or two and let it rest a while. I have learned that much more than that heats it up too much and ruins it. I also subscribe to the "sipping" variation, a couple of short light draws sometimes yields a different even better taste.

About 1.5-2 minutes between puffs allows the cigar to burn at an optimum temperature, carmelizing the tobacco and giving the cigar the most amount of flavor. Of course, if the cigar is too humid then it will probably go out, so usually I don't wait that long between puffs.
